900 yards and 74 points given up

Yet start threads about the guy with practice squad RBs and a UDFA and DT playing offensive tackles not scoring 24 points a game

yea. i'm actually a major shula supporter. but only because of the way this team is built. its a well oiled machine.

when one part of that machine isn't operating like it should you would hope some changes would be made to offset that one part.

nothing was changed. he acted like we were down by 3 or up by 7. it was flat out embarrassing. this loss was on the coaches as much as the players.

He wants to be a run first team, but when you take cam's run yards away we just haven'nt been good at all. Deangelo or someone will break one at times, even in crucial situations, but it isn't consistent. Shula doesn't seem to ever make half time adjustments either, we are always the same team game in and game out half after half. Our O-line isn't great, but good coaches find a way to work around it, and shula doesn't seem to be able to do that.

This team could be competent offensively if it had 1 of 2 things

1) an OC that understood his team's strengths and weaknesses and knew how to play around them accordingly

2) a strong OL that compensated for the dated, predictable failings of it's OC

literally if we had just one of those we'd be a pretty good offense. but we have both. coming into the season, we knew we had both-and the complaceny from management about it is where they receive their portion of the blame.

The team can't run and can't pass because of o line issues and practice squad RBs.

Yes our D was bad....but its been good in the past. What the main issue is our OC cant handle games where our D is bad. Most OC's can compensate or try another approach to give us more points on the board with a no huddle fast pace O that tires the opposing D out. You cant win the time of possession and loose the game like we did. His philosophy is always if you win the TOP you win the game. Thats not true we had nearly double the TOP as the ravens during the first half but boy oh boy did our score not show that. IM tired of people making excuses for Shula like oh its not his fault blah blah blah. I think he's bad and always have. Even last year I hated how we played and I want a new OC stat. Thing is our organization seems to be under the same impression you are. Its not him its everything else, I argue that its not everything else its him first and that makes everything else worse than it would be.

Bullsh*t. You would be surprised at what a competent O Coordinator could do with this offense. Just take the Giants offense as an example. They were one of the worst offenses last year and had one of the worst O-line in the league. Ben McAdoo comes in, implements his west coast offense, now they are looking explosive now.

My point is that I'm not sure you can keep a QB alive behind this OL if you're forced to put up 40 points a game to stand a chance. This team was built to control the ball and have a dominant D. Now that our D is playing like one of the worst in the league having an offense designed to control the ball isn't gonna do much good.

When your offense can't stay on the field because your OC doesn't know how to call a game, then yeah, defenses will give up some points.

Shula is just one of the problems with this team right now.  He just happens to be the biggest one...

Most teams can't handle games where D is that bad. Factor in practice squad RBs and no o line, not a !ot anyone can do

Why is why being dominant on both sides of the ball is key. So if one day your offense or defense doesn't produce, you still have a chance because the other one picks up the slack. We will never get that with Shula. His ass needs to go.

TOP tonight was about even. Plus we drove the ball well when o line gave more than half a second on pass plays

At the end of the day, you can't expect your D to win all of your games for you. Just like you can't have your O do it every game either.

The biggest problem is that when the D has a bad day, the O hasn't been there to pick up the slack. If Shula is calling to the strengths of the other team, and exposing our weaknesses further. That's on him, plain and simple.

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't fire him. I'll let the FO decide that. But I would like for him to adjust his game plan both before and during games, so that maybe we won't look like a peewee league team out there most of the time.
