No matter how this season turns out, we still have one of the best, young cores in the NFL. Our future is bright, folks.

IF, that is, we can lock up Cam long-term, which isn't a given. He may just say, "fug it, I can't work with this anymore." This is my greatest fear as a Panthers fan.

1. Kelvin Benjamin, Panthers wide receiver: He's made big plays weekly for an offense that hasn't shied away from making him its centerpiece. On pace for 80-plus catches and more than 1,300 yards, Benjamin is fifth in the NFL with six catches of 20-plus yards. It's worth noting that he's done much of this against the opponent's top cornerback. Benjamin's toughness, his ability to win battles at the point of catch and his immediate impact on Carolina's offense is one of this season's better stories.

He would have not played with the same fire this year like he is now. Why do people not understand this?! Why didnt Smitty play this hard last year?! He did not want to be here anymore period, it took him getting released for him to play at this level

You really can't say this. Lots of people were saying he was washed up and that would've put the chip on his shoulder again. Look at 2010 to 2011. Did we release him then? No he just got pissed off that everyone was saying he was old and declining. Same thing could've happened this year we don't know. You can't say we are better off without smith

If we get things turned back around, and winning, then don't be surprised if Kuechly and KB are in the running at the end of the season.

I'm so thrilled that KB is playing so well at this point.  He's going to get better as the season progresses...scary right?

Expect an U turn like last year!!!

Ravens O line is miles better than ours and Smitty would have stunted KB's development because we all know how Cam locked on Smitty, no way in hell KB puts up the same numbers with Smitty in the lineup. So what he is playing great, he has one-seasons max left in him. I could see if he was 25 and still in his prime and we cut him loose, but thats not the case.

Just bc 89 is playing well doesn't mean we aren't better off without him.

I think both Carolina and Balt are better as a result. 89 complicates things in a manner here that his new team doesn't have to worry about. It isn't as simplistic as people make it.....you don't just add what 89 is doing in Balt and claim that would be the result here

Dwayne Harris (WR) of the Dallas Cowboys is going to be an UFA this offseason.  He was very underrated in the 2010 draft, and has been productive for the Cowboys, although underutilized.  He'd give us a high-level return man, and a HELL of a slot receiver to compliment KB.  Just sayin... and he wouldn't be expensive, either.

You could absolutely make an argument that if Smitty keeps this up and gets the 1800 some yards he projected for, he deserves to be MVP.

anything is possible but it's really hard for a wide receiver to get attention for that award.  calvin johnson was a hair shy of 2000 receiving yards in 2012 and didn't even get a vote.

Youre right, but people also over complicate it. Smiths attitude or "locker room distractions" were most likely worse when he was in his prime yet somehow we made it to a Super Bowl and to the playoffs. Would he have less deep pass completions bc our oline is poo? Probably. But don't think he just magically got better by wearing a different uniform, it doesn't work that way

KBs numbers don't affect his development. If he was splitting passes with Gordon and Johnson and only had 150yards so far would that mean he sucks? No he just isn't the number 1 target anymore. He would still have the same amount of skill he just wouldn't be thrown to as much.
