Is this the worst secondary in NFL history?

Pay attention to these guys if you re-watch the game. They were running away from tackles today. They were shying away from collisions, and taking the long route towards players with the ball. I've never seen anything like it in professional football.

It's bad enough that you're giving receivers 5-10 yard cushions, but after they catch it, you back up and then loop towards them to try to make the tackle, and they've picked up seven more yards than they should've gotten by the time you get to them.

Worst secondary in football if not ever.

The only thing that saves them "statistically," is the few interceptions they've gotten. And Cason even bobbled that one, despite it being thrown directly to them. They looked scared. It was pitiful.

Godfrey is too expensive to cut, but a league minimum guy would probably be a better player than he is right now.

The CBs are alright. Harper and Decoud are absolutely pathetic. They both have a good number of picks, but even more big plays allowed. I'm pretty sure every one of our 50+ yard runs given up this year came when Harper was in "free roam" mode and got to choose his own gap to cover.

Harper is totally useless.  Did anybody notice his effort on that 97 yard kickoff return?  He looked like a kicker running away to avoid contact.  He had a shot to at least get a hand on this guy before he broke out and slow him down a little but he just froze, turned around a couple of times and the guy was gone.

    • Outside of cerrato, I do like our draft overall. Hard to get can't miss draft picks when you pick late in the draft
    • Very True--and I am a former HS English teacher.
    • Not a Moore fan-but he had a few good games last year-but I want players that scare you--Renfrow's route running and intelligence, Legette's size, speed, and strength, AT's intelligence and route running, Coker's body control, strong hands, and abilty to win contested catches, and TMac's size, body control, and ability to find soft spots in zone coverages.  Horn gives them the ability to stretch the field and he plays special teams.   Moore has a nice smile and can dance.  He filled in well last season, but to get better as a team, you have to upgrade your players.  I think Moore is a bottom of the roster guy who got bumped when we drafted 2 WRs and signed a legit free agent.  Here is the thing--TMac makes us better because he is great against the zone--man?  Good luck with that.  AT's role can be reduced, and that is probably a good thing.  He can specialize in situational football. Coker?  Just getting started. XL?  Just getting started.  Drafting TMac was probably a bit of a wake up call, but XL will be better as the 2. Renfrow?  I see him splitting reps with AT--keeping both fresh and giving different looks. Horn?  Watch the safety cheat his side when he is in the game--I see a young Steve Smith type in him, but he has yet to play a game.  I hear that Morgan loves him.
