Stats don't show the whole story. Stew was beating and fighting for every inch yesterday, I haven't seen a back on this team play like that this year. Fozzy or d will would be second.

stew was good yesterday. he runs with an attitude. unfortunately the OL disintegrated as soon as the ball was snapped so he was being destroyed in the backfield, but it typically took 3 or 4 guys to do it.

 

i don't know how anyone can bash stew about his play on the field. injuries? sure. but when he's out there he gives it his all.

That fact RR deferred shows he has a lot to get as a HC. That is exactly what GB wanted. The ball....to get off to a fast start and take their poo run defense out of the equation

you don't abandon the run as soon as the game starts, no matter what the score is.

I think a power runningback like Stewart is best suited for Cams mobility,another important aspect of that is Stewarts blocking.

given our atrocious o-line play, and given our other options at the position, stew is running pretty well.

Stewart is a bruising back, Fozzy has speed and is little. That pass he caught in the flat against the bengals and scampered for a good gain got me thinking.

How about having both backs in at the same time? Fake a run, let Stew pick up the blitz if any and send Fozzy into the flats. He could be our Darren Sproles.

Agree, we especially need to establish the run game against 3-4 defense to dial down the blitz and pass rushers.
