Rivera: " couldn't find a left tackle to fit what we do"?

Then let G-Man do his job. If you wanna blame anybody, blame Gross AND Wharton too for retiring. Jordan said he left the OL in great shape for the future. Well... I guess he was lying out of his ass.

That said, do I really blame them for the predicament we're in? No. We can tear apart the reasoning behind the 13 million dollar franchise tag for Hardy all we want but nobody saw this coming. Any GM across the league would've done the same -- Greg is an elite DE.

We knew Gross was retiring before the start of last season....

And Wharton was a band-aid rental brought in late last year.

Neither should of been viewed as pieces for this year. That should of been well thought out last offseason

Every veteran says retirement is near but after a successful campaign they usually revisit their decision to call it quits. Gross was one of the few to retire on top.

Regardless, the market for a solid contributor at LT was low and virtually every rookie selected at the position has struggled immensely. We were fugged no matter what this season.

Deal with it.

Everyone knew last season was Gross' last year. Wishful thinking to think that was magically going to change.

If you wanted to find a better option than Bell and Chandler it could of been done. There are backups across the league that are better. Gettlemen figured he would let Cam do it all and be magician.

Here's the problem...almost all rookie LT's struggle. That's why they are often started out on the right side to gain some experience. We didn't see anyone we thought could come in and start this year, so we selected no one. So what happens this offseason? We have the exact same dilemma, and now we likely have to wait yet another year while the young player is developing.

Next year when the guys selected this year start to get it, we will still be at square one. That's why it wouldn't surprise me at all if Bell is still our starter next year. I am afraid that is the reality we face.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
