I'm in.

I still believe there are things happening that no one could overcome.

But at some point, when things are this bad, and the o line is this shitty, and we are struggling to score, an offensive coordinator needs to come up with some gadget plays or something to manufacture points and yards.

There are issues that is making it hard for him to overcome, but that is his job to overcome them, somehow, someway.

If we keep down this path it is time for him to hit the bricks.

I re eally hope Cam is able to pull himself back up and regain his confidence. Shula hasnt helped him out in that dept. Shula needs to go.

no let's just keep shula... this just seems to be the coaching logic. you know that redzone attack is awesome. he's so wise at first downs. "we just need to look at the tape"...

Before last season I had shula as a 4/10, but he did a great job and I have to give him a 7/10 at seasons end. Not going to list injuries for excuses, but between RBs and OL..... I mean at one point they where on 5th string RB and signing other undrafted OL off Other teams PS. Plus remember the seafags stole a LT off the panthers PS, they invested over one year and full offseason for that.

Right now I give him a 5/10, cam had a great 5 game span..... then the last 3 have been very poor. Shula also called a great game with derek anderson at QB. That seems like 10 years ago now. Plus replace a few TD drops and well scoring would be higher on average.

My main issue right now is red zone or even once the panthers cross the 50 yard line. I'm very unhappy with the play calling in the field goal range to red zone........ very unhappy.

I was against his hiring and thought it was a very poor choice at the time. But I also defended him last year and early this year from what I thought was an inordinate amount of criticism. He probably still gets more criticism than is deserved, but he is no longer worth defending. This entire staff must take accountability for what they have done and the decisions they have made.

It is also clear that just dumping Shula isn't enough. This organization appears broken from the top down.

I'm not really surprised. I really thought our offense sucked last year but was masked by our defense. Shula just does not know how to get Can in sync and he never has. I blame Rivera and I think it really should cost him his job. It really pisses me off that we could have had Cam in a Chip Kelly offense running other teams in the ground yet JR felt Rivera needed to stay. Thanks JR.

    • I'm going to be real, the reason that vote ended up so lop-sided by the end was directly due to my programming. So there's nothing tongue in cheek about it. Also I left PFF after the Collinsworth acquisition (didn't want to move to Cincy) but have stayed involved in analytics via backdoor channels, but I can absolutely say that the experience was eye-opening, not because those guys are unquestionable football savants and that I became one by proxy, but because the amount of information that becomes available outside of what the typical fan has access to is revelatory and also really drives home how much context is still being missed even with all of that information. You don't discover that you know everything, you discover how much you still can't know no matter how hard you try, hence my point about the NFL not being able to figure out what makes a QB good. There's a lot of AI work going into that now and even that only seems to further confuse things vs. actually enlighten the problem. In the professional realm teams don't really talk about quarterbacks as A strictly being better than B, but how A can potentially perform better than B given a specific context of C. Of course those contexts may be wider for A than B, but there's also contexts where B can outshine A, even with lesser talent surrounding them. So what good teams strive to do is ultimately define a process of how they want their entire team to operate under schematically, find players that fit that scheme, and hopefully find a guy whose skillset will be maximized running that scheme with those players. Where bad teams fall of the wagon is constantly shifting those schemes and chasing bad fits or fads vs. sticking with a core identity and developing it.
    • there is a 100 mile long list of NFL players and coaches going to bat and defending horrible play from teammates.
    • In 6 games, we've only had 6 hurries??? ... that can't be accurate
