Panthers believe Hardy innocent, will try to workout extension

Even if he was found innocent I wouldn't want him on the team. He lives a trashy lifestyle and surrounds himself with trashy people and that's why all this happened.

I believe in second chances but not here. He needs a fresh start which he'll easily get. This team is horrible anyway I'd think he or any other potential FA would be glad to leave.

Lol you don't know talent when you see it. I guess you like sucking. Hardy is a piece of this young core we need him. With CJ getting old losing hardy would set us way back

Hardy probably would have been the difference in the outcome of the Cincy game and the Seattle game.

With that said.....it's possible that Hardy sitting out could work to the Panthers long term benefit.  I don't see him getting 14-15 mill per year on his next contract.  What if he works out a long term deal with us that's incentive laden so it keeps the cap hit low.

Hindsight is 20/20.  If Hardy would have walked this off season and our D went on to under perform as it has.....people would have been calling for DG's head there too.

The defense has gotten a lot better once we cut Godfrey.  In both the Packers and Bengals games, which were our worst performances, Godfrey was lit up.  Other than that, our defense has played good enough that if we had a competent offense, we would have more wins.  Of course again if we let Hardy walk, we could have resigned Mitchell, and probably would have picked up a DE as well.  By giving Hardy the franchise tag, both sides of the ball suffered, but more so our offense.

You can prove me wrong then. Everything his girlfriend said was corroborated, like it or not. That's why the judge found him guilty and that's why he will be found guilty a second time by a jury that doesn't know what the NFL is. An NC jury will only see a 300 pound black man and a defenseless white woman with evidence of assault.

Unless you mean he hasn't been found guilty. Hard to tell by your .gif. Which, either you haven't been paying attention, or you are still confused about the legal process. Either way, you're wrong. I'm glad you managed some pie though.

I understand what you're trying to say....but you do realize the absence of Hardy is the main reason we're so terrible on 3rd down right?

Giving Hardy the franchise tag wasn't the reason our D suffered.  The absence of Hardy is why our D suffered.

Mitchell would be exposed without a pass rush my friend.

As far as the O goes....there were mistakes made there.  Specifically at tackle.  However unless we completely ignored the D there wasn't a great tackle available anyway in FA.  Do you think Anthony Collins is the difference in our record?

Apparently you're confused about the legal process.  Because right now he's innocent.  The farce trial is wiped away when appealed as if it never happened in NC.  I'm not searching for something that's been quoted and pasted numerous times here already, but that's how the fuged up trial system works in NC.  The bench trial plays it safe, and the real decision comes on appeal.

As to everything being corroborated if my memory serves me, the only thing corroborated was her "friend" (who testified for the defense by the way, doesn't speak well for the prosecution) said she heard a ruckus.  She didn't see anything.  She heard a ruckus.  There were no actual witnesses.  Just someone who heard some noise.  The coked up chick admitted in court the only thing that happened to her was she broke a nail for fug's sake.  Which, by the way, she probably broke swinging her shoe at Hardy.  Hardy's story is the one with plenty of corroboration.  It would take a helluva incompetent defense lawyer to lose this case.

We could have signed Veldheer at LT.  That would have made us significantly better than we are now.  Could have re-signed Ted Ginn.  Giving us an experienced deep threat, while also maintaining our return game.  Of course we foolishly let Smitty go.  Our offense would have soared if we have done those things.  As for replacing Hardy, we could have picked up another DE that would give us some pass rush, but more so a stabilizing force on the line.  Mitchell without a pass rush is miles better than Harper without one.  Ultimately, I don't think our defense would have been a big problem. (Minus Godfrey.  Even with Hardy, our defense would still suck with Godfrey in there.)

So your telling me that all the injuries along the interior line and RB wouldn't have affected anything?   You'd let Hardy walk for Veldheer and Ginn?  While I like Ginn go look at his catches this year. Remember Philly's was doing well at WR until he got hurt too.  I like Mitchell too, wish we could have kept him.....no way I'm choosing him over Hardy though and quite honestly Mitchell got overpaid.

Had we known Hardy wasn't going to play what you're saying makes the most sense.  DG has made some mistakes.  I'm not blaming him for Hardy's situation though...the guy doesn't have a crystal ball.

    • Someone correct me- doesn't Dave have a six year contract??? I think Dan Morgan does as well..... that's the price you have to pay once you get a rep for firing HCs....
    • Brother re-check that guarantee...my page shows 30mill.....thats means he's staying in my book for at least til the end of 2026.  Im going to be my normal honest self, besides watching like half of the SB, I didn't know the guy. My guess is Panthers have a "planned model of paying players" and they almost had to spend a chunk of space on a DLman after Dbrown injury season gave them a nightmare out-come of worst D in NFL scoring. Once Milton got above Dbrown payments, they went with the plan B. A player whom the "co-GM" put his name with. Brad said turk would not be a problem off-field and leader, which the Panthers need badly. I dug in with the google-fu, I found out  I also found him playing lots of NT, which was shocking given the small frame. He seems ready for a bigger role and had a great SB too. IDK, I feel Dan Morgan was dead set on not going into this season without more DL depth and its there. The real deal is this, nearly all FA take one year to "adjust". I think turk is trying too hard and causing injuries as a result for his contract. Dbrown called turk "strong as hell" and I know for a fact Dbrowns has insane core and strength numbers. They lift together with the 50 LB difference...... you always lift with a guy who's similar in strength cause you can leave on the 8 wheels, let the other guy lift while you rest and go after him.  I do wish he had a better beginning to his panther career, 3 games for him to do so and it would cover up the low points if he made a few plays.... Again it felt like they almost had to make move/spend $$$ and Morgan was going to have DL depth this season no matter what...My best guess.
