Bye Bye Antoine Cason...

The troubling thing to me is, where is Gettleman while all of this is going on? It's clear Rivera has lost the locker room and has now gotten rid of at least two guys he praised before that ended up "talking back" through the media. Isn't a GM's job all personnel moves? So is Rivera just bypassing Gettleman, or is Gettleman overseeing this cosmic joke?

Don't get me wrong, Cason deserved to be released based on his play. But, so does Roman Harper, DeCoud, Byron Bell, Nate Chandler, and the list goes on and on.

Perhaps Gman is letting Rivera hang himself.

What's funny about this is that players keep going from starting line-up to unemployment. Rivera won't bench them to give someone else a shot when it's clear they suck. He waits 10 more weeks through them sucking and then just cuts them.

Amini getting hurt is the best thing to happen to him, because he'd end up being cut instead of depth behind Norwell.

    • As a Penn State alum I was excited to see everyone return, truth is I think we came into the year a bit over confident coming off last season. Had a slow start and poor depth at LB once Rojas went down, and once Franklin was fired the season was essentially over. From a character perspective DDS is a 10/10 guy, hardworking and incredibly loyal. Nobody expected him to return for his senior year, but he did to try win us a Natty. He also played the entire bowl game this year against Clemson which is rare to see as a high end senior prospect.
    • Both of New England's TDs were scored when Maye went into "wing it and fling it" mode. As Deac said, when he did run, he ran well.  And, while some of the criticism of Sam Darnold may be warranted, Super Bowl history is littered with QBs who didn't light up the scoreboard but still came away with championships. Matter of fact, ever seen the list of Super Bowl winning QBs who didn't even throw a TD pass? Namath SB3, Griese SB8, McMahon SB20, Aikman SB28, Elway SB32, Roethlisberger SB40, Peyton Manning SB 50, Brady SB53.
    • Nope. Don't do that. We need an infusion of talent, not going all in one prospect. Especially a pass rusher. We already drafted two in the 2nd last year and they usually take 2-3 years of development. We should honestly try to add an impact vet there in free agent and focus elsewhere in the draft. We don't need more young developmental talent there. We have that. We need someone who can step in and add an impact day one.
