As bad as we think we are, there are still  worse offenses in the NFL. Significantly worse.

 

 

That's what is so frustrating.

 

 

We have the star QB, the star TE, star rookie WR, above-average RBs.

 

 

The offensive line and play calling is what's held back the offense for the majority of the season, IMO.

And for every Avant, there is a Ted Ginn or Mike Mitchell. Both played very well here under the same coaches and yet are struggling with other teams. Or there's Mike Remmers, a castofff who couldn't make it as a starter anywhere else and yet has excelled in his limited time here. Personaly, I think the one thing the coaching staff is good at is getting the most from the players they have.

Lol Avant was stuck in mud on 90% of his snaps here and Philly brown is a much better option at this point, shula is trash but that has nothing to do with Avant.

fun fact: with Cam at QB, we were 2-0-1 when Avant caught for more than 25 yards and 0-7 when he didn't

He should've never been signed.  He fits as a possession receiver in a West Coast offense and we tried to use him like a 25 y/o E-P Slot.

I think it comes down to: we have a young QB that is still learning the game and trying to find a connection with a WR...KB will be that receiver, we just gotta wait.

The defense dropping off significantly doesn't help either. They are giving up 10 extra points more a game than last season. The offense has dropped off a little but only 2.3 less points per game compared to last year.

Looking at the last couple years it's safe to say that the team is trying to fix the cap situation, hence all the one year "mercenary" contracts...
