Should we resign Byron Bell?

Was he? He was injured badly in at least 3 of those losses. The only reason he played  was because there was no one behind him. Remember Foucalt? If only Jeff Otah was willing to do battle like Bell.

He's a low end starter. But we made the playoffs two straight years with him. We probably could have won more games if he was healthy.

Last year he was playing RT, and we had a veteran Jordan Gross protecting Newton at LT, combined with a veteran in Wharton. Our OL looks better because we have guys in there now who can pick up the slack and help minimize his mistakes. He's still the weak link of the group.

Bell is a good guy, but he should be a backup. Even yesterday he still let guys blow right past him to get clean shots at Newton.

Yeah I agree. That is why we struggled this year. Bell is a guy that needs help and Chandler was getting the help on the other side. Bell is not a guy that can go 1 on 1 with premier pass rushers. He is not the long term answer but he's a good backup plan if free agency and draft picks don't work out. Early in the season Bell was our 2nd best lineman. Trai has really come along and Norwell is playing well. Remmers and Bell will be tested in the playoffs.

Sure he can start, but you better have Anthony Munoz, Larry Allen and Steve Hutchinson with him.

No, he has NOT being playing well.  The overall unit has been playing well, but he has been playing just as shitty as all season.  If you pay attention to him you'll see it.  Don't assume because Cam's taking less sacks and the run game is gelling that means Bell is playing better.  His nickname should be The Matador.

He's been playing very well lately after we revamped our OL. He shouldn't cost too much either.

He Has not been playing well, he still gets beat but our running game slows pass rush, and cam is throwing faster / is back as a runner therefore DE's must respect that meaning it's nearly impossible for them to pin their ears back they must keep contain which slows them down and we have been playing with the lead in each of our last couple games excluding maybe the Browns game at times
