We only beat one team with a winning record this season

Bad teams don't win 4 games in a row, no matter who they're playing against.  I think the Panthers finally got the right combination out there and it made a huge difference, and maybe even reignited the .

It is kind of unbelievable we are where we are considering all the disasters that have happened this season.  What other team can say the same?

on our current 4 game win streak, we beat:

7-9 Browns

7 9 Saints

6-10 Falcons

2-14 Bucs

earlier we beat:

11-5 Lions (in Week 2, on the road)

5-11 Bears

2-14 Bucs

and we tied the 10-5-1 Bengals

because of the division we play in, we jumped 7 teams with better records and get to go to the playoffs:

10-6 Eagles

9-7 Houston

9-7 Chiefs

9-7 Chargers

9-7 Bills

8-8 Dolphins

8-8 49ers

Our opponents outscored us 374 to 339 this season, for a neg 35 point differential, which is #23 in the NFL (bottom ten), behind:

155 - Patriots

140 - Seahawks

138 - Packers

128 - Broncos

115 - Cowboys

107 - Ravens

89 - Colts

74 - Eagles

72 - Chiefs

68 - Steelers

65 - Texans

54 - Bills

39 - Lions <-------------we beat them

21 - Bengals <-------------we tied them

15 - Dolphins

11 - Cardinals <-------------not very good

0 - Chargers

neg 18 - Vikings

neg 20 - Giants

neg 23 - Saints <-------------we went 1-1 against them

neg 30 - Rams

neg 34 - 49ers

neg 35 - Panthers

neg 36 - Falcons <-------------we went 1-1 against them

neg 38 - Browns <-------------we beat them

our QB, Cam Newton, is bottom half of the league across the board:

#19 in passing TD (tied with Kyle Orton and Alex Smith)

#21 in passing ypg

#21 in passing yds

#26 in passer rating

we have the #19 scoring offense and the #20 scoring D, both bottom half of the league

so are you sure this is the season you want to proclaim Gettleman a genius? Why not just wait until we are one of the better teams in the league? If/when that happens, you won't have to trip all over yourself trying to make Gettleman look good, we will all already be happy then

are you sure keeping Rivera as our coach is a good idea? And now there are even people coming out praising Shula. Seriously? The guy has been a lousy OC every year he has been an NFL OC, including this year.

We only beat one team with a winning record this season

EDIT:

as a reminder, we have had better records than the one we had this

year.

1996 - 12-4

1999 - 8-8

2003 - 11-5

2005 - 11-5

2006 - 8-8

2008 - 12-4

2009 - 8-8

2013 - 12-4

People here act like we're the Raiders and are amazed that we had a

7-win season, like we did in 1995, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2012

the only times we failed to get 7 wins in our 20 seasons in franchise

history were:

1998 - 4-12

2001 - 1-15

2010 - 2-14

2011 - 6-10

Awesome!!!  Go Panthers!!!  Keep Pounding!!!

IMO our losing streak was not reflective of the talent on this team. We were plugging and playing guys into spots to fill gaps, there was no chemistry. We're finally healthy, and each unit has really come together and gotten on the same page. The OL still has its gaps but damn it we've looked like a real NFL OL out there of late. Our D is playing with serious heart, and Cam wants to redeem that loss to SF last year. We replay almost any of those games that we lost (maybe minus GB ) with this team as it stands and our season is entirely different. Fact of the matter is we gelled and got hot at the right time, and we've got a shot at the dance.

Things OP negated to mention

Cam was not healthy until around the Bengals game, and even then he wasn't 100% til aroudn the Vikings game.

Our Oline didn't get set till the Vikings game, Norwell,  Reemers and Trai are all better than Silatolu, Chandler and Scott

CJ wasn't 100% til around the Saints game

The only starter in our secondary from our losing streak is Roman Harper. Norman/Bene > White/Cason, and Boston > Decoud

Philly is tremendously better in the slot than Avant ever was. It's shown since we've replaced him.

Stewart and Fozzy > Dwill. Need I say more?

So, uh, yeah bro.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
