Stewart Starting Per NFL.COM

Can we assume that we will need to run against a potent pass defense?

And if so, we should have all of our backs available to attack their run D, Stew is a beast but I have no issue if William/Tugger/Fozzy are in as diversions or options.

I see allot of options and screens Saturday...Williams should be rested and can hopefully get around the corner and Stew will go North/South. Stew needs to get a majority of the workload...if productive.

and then there is this tidbit

In week 7 of the 2009 NFL season, DeAngelo Williams broke a 77 yard run against the Cardinals, breaking his previous record of 75 yards, which was also set against Arizona. The Panthers got their revenge from the previous year's playoff loss as they beat the Cardinals 34-21

There's no way they'd have started Williams.  He might get a few carries to give Stewart a breather and keep the defense off-balance.  But if they'd started Williams that'd have to be one of the dumbest moves in the history of the NFL considering Stewart is killing it right now.

I wouldn't go that far.

Some of the comments here remind me of how humans act to stock market swings............everyone can be counted on overreacting when things are good (Stew running now) and overreacting when things are bad (Dwill not looking so good).

The reality is if the Oline can do its job then even Gano can start as the RB and they will still move the chains in 3 downs........

Granted Stew can break tackles in the secondary that Dwill cannot.........but he may still bring a dimension to our run game at times we could leverage.
