DeAngelo Williams vs Frank Alexander

I would rather deactivate Joe Webb or Carrington Byndom and rotate in both #34 and #90.

As much as people like to talk about how much better Stewart is than Williams these days (which is true), I think we'll need them both to beat Seattle, with a healthy dosage of Cam and Tolbert too.

I think that against this Seattle secondary (their LBs don't scare me) running the rock 30+ times while passing it only 20-25 is the way to go.

This.

We need to give McDermott all the shiny new toys he can use.  This game--like the ones previous--will be marked by defense by both teams.  Giving Shula extra weapons is like giving Hellen Keller a TV.  That said, DWill probably sits.  Two games ago I would have thought opposite.  But Rivera surprised me with limiting DWill's minutes.

For anyone picking Frank over DeAngelo, you must have not been here during the 2005 playoff run when we couldn't find a running back who was healthy. In our scheme running backs are more important than backup D linemen who were suspended most of the year. If I had to choose between Frank and Williams I would pick Williams. My preference would be to have both of them active and inactivate someone else.

Apples and oranges.

We didn't go into the Seattle game with a roster full healthy RBs like we now have. So yeah, if we were banged up at RB like in 2005....then yes on Williams. But we aren't.

Stewart missed 3 games already and WIlliams is coming off a broken hand. Tolbert was on IR for 6 weeks and Fozzy has been hurt as well and missed games.  Sure they might not be banged up at the moment but none of them have been healthy all year so yeah we need everyone to get work at we head into the playoffs where often injuries to key people determine how far you go.

The reason you activate Williams is so he can get some work and stay in the groove while you ride Stewart and hope he stays healthy which would be the exception not the rule lately.  But we might need all three against a physical defense. Then again I don't believe there is anything wrong with Williams in the rotation. He only got 7 carries but averaged the same 5 yards a carry that Stewart did.  He isn't the bruiser that Stewart is but is still quick and when he gets out on the edge can be very effective.  The O line seems to be floating all ships and making everyone look good.
