Bridgewater deserves it honestly but people put ridiculous expectations on rookie QBs and ODJ is flashier

Bridgewater was never on pace to do anything other than be an average QB this season. Maybe he will round out to be a good player in the future.

OBJ is another story. He is definitely a great player playing right before our eyes.

He is the only player in NFL history to have 10 catches, 100 yards and touchdown in 3 games in a 4 game span.

He is the first rookie in NFL history with at least 12 receptions, 140 yards and three touchdowns in a single game

Second most prolific season by a rookie WR behind Randy Moss and not by a lot. This is also with 4 games less played.

The award goes to players who have prolific seasons. OBJ had that.

Benjamin was rumored to be on Seattle's short list prior to the draft.. then additional rumors said he blew off Pete Carroll and John Schneider, so no idea if that had any effect on his draft status on Seattle's board.. since you guys drafted him before the chance.

Anyway.. I never expected him to be as good as he has been.  I guess he's reverted back to the dropsies recently, but the kid has a ton of talent and if he's able to correct that.. he will be a monster for years and years to come.

As far as his ROTY status.. man.. this years rookie class was stacked with offensive playmakers.  Pretty sure Odell Beckham has this award in the bag.. but you guys should be excited about Benjamin's potential down the road.

He probably blew off Seattle because he knew Carolina would draft him before he'd ever get to Seattle on draft day, unless they traded up for him.

The obvious choice is OBJ. He's had one of the best rookie wr seasons in history, so I'd be surprised if he doesn't win this award.

Personally the dark horse for this could be Mike Evans. For him to put up over a thousand yards and 12 TDs with the QBs he had to work with this season is pretty damn good. It makes me wonder what his stat lines could have been if he had a better QB throwing his way.

    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
    • Because playoff hockey and regular season hockey aren’t the same thing.  It’s a combination of the game intensity being dialed up with loose officiating.
