Describe a receiving corps that would best suit Cam

The title says it all.  I'm not interested in seeing a hypothetical depth chart of specific players.  You can reference some if you want but I'm interested in seeing what traits at WR would work the best given Cam's play at QB.

The obvious: A large physical balanced receiver >6'2, good hands, blocker, doesn't give up on plays

Whatsayyou?

Able to catch obviously but mostly more speed, we need a more guys who can get out of coverage and get open. I'm tired of seeing passes in coverage, every team has a few guys who can get open. Sure our OC calls long developing plays but I don't want a guy who falls down after he's pressed like Bersin. We need quickness!!!!!

Cam throws lasers. Need wr who can catch that. Don't know specific tangibles but maybe look at wr whose college qbs share similar traits to cam.

Definitely.  I think finding guys that can handle the velocity of his throws is key.  If they can't corral them, the tips that happen become easily pick-able at times.

Something I want to pry out of posters is if a downfield Terrance Williams/Cruz type threat would actually work well with him?  Because I think that's going to be a type of receiver a lot of people want, but it may not be the best fit.

It wasn't neccesarily that last years WR's core was better. It just had pieces that complimented each other. Having Ginn and Smith's savy made last years offense more vertical than this one was.

This years squad has too many guys of the same skill set. Cotchery, Avant, and Bersin are players that serve the same function. Philly is decent, but he's young and it's a lot to put on a UDFA to beat Richard Sherman on a go route.

Had we kept Ginn and Steve Smith to team with KB we would have  hell of a WR core. You'd have the always open redzone guy in KB, the deep threat who gets yards in chunks with Ginn. And finally Steve Smith to make the clutch catches with YAC ability.

Right now we just need a guy with hands and speed.

    • It's not even a particularly nuanced opinion, yet it seems out of reach for so many.
    • I don’t think he can be great. For me he tops out as starter maybe make the playoffs, stuff like that. I would have been okay with that kind of player as a placeholder but you don’t invest the time and assets we did and be happy with that.  On the cure,If a guy has mechanical flaws but otherwise is enticing, you let someone else make the mistake of taking him in the top of the 1st. If he doesn’t get taken you can pick him up 2nd or 3rd day and try to develop him (off the bench not starting).  The risk/reward with Bryce was horribly misjudged. I didn’t want to trade like that in the first place because I didn’t see the generation talent that justifies that type of move, but once it was done CJ was the better gamble. No doubt.
    • That's what I mean. If you claim to possess some super knowledge about the QB position from a previous non-football but football related job, wouldn't you want to expound upon that to support this "everyone doesn't know anything about being a QB" thesis? The rest is just summed up by stating that there are a lot of variables to a QB being successful. Yeah....I mean that isn't earth shattering.  While there is certainly a lot of luck involved in all manners of success, consistent success with the variables around you also changing on a regular basis is usually fairly conclusive.  Is Trent Dilfer the same as Tom Brady? Is Nick Foles the same as Patrick Mahomes? I supposed based on the OP's arguments, they are. That's not really the way it turned out, however.  The NFL isn't unlike most other jobs or even other sports. The cream typically does rise to the top on a more consistent basis. Is it accidental that premier poker players seem to win or perform very well on a consistent basis, give that any individual hand is largely luck?
