Describe a receiving corps that would best suit Cam

Definitely.  I think finding guys that can handle the velocity of his throws is key.  If they can't corral them, the tips that happen become easily pick-able at times.

Something I want to pry out of posters is if a downfield Terrance Williams/Cruz type threat would actually work well with him?  Because I think that's going to be a type of receiver a lot of people want, but it may not be the best fit.

brett farve threw like Cam. His receivers used to talk about how their hands would hurt from his throws.

Cam is similar. I honestly don't know what type of skill set that receiver would have but we gotta find them.

Olsen, at this point, is the only one who can handle his throws on a consistent basis. I think KB will get there.

Tune in to Fox right now....watch how much room those receivers have when the ball gets delivered. We need WRs that can get open and not have every pass contested.

Yep.  Good route runners that can separate is huge.  Our current guys can't even seem to do it against Cover 2 on short routes minus Philly sometimes.

Another question I had was if anyone can point to the last time we had a 25+ yard play where a receiver gained separation and Cam threw a ball that led him downfield for a bomb?

It seems on most of the long passes we have, the guys need to slow down, come back, and contest the ball.  That's why I think a fighting/physical receiver is huge for us.  It's one of KB's best traits IMO.

these are quarterback issues. not receiver issues.

I recognize that and it's why I'm trying to allude to the fact that Cam may not work well with these speedy downfield threats.

I'm all for understanding that and him improving but at the same time it's important to bring guys better suited to him in the offense.

It depends on if we keep Shula. If we do, we have to build a WR corps that caters to what he does, because he doesn't adjust for the players in the game. So we need to replace Cotchery with a real deep threat, and get a blocking TE so Shula will stop keeping Olsen in to block.

If we get a new, good OC, we have a lot more freedom in the personnel we sign, because a good OC will build his offense around who we have.
