yeah, but how many 3pt comebacks have Cam and Rivera had?

They, Rivera and Cam, have had 3pt or less 4th qtr Combacks against:

Jags - 2011

Saints - 2012

Eagles - 2012

Patriots - 2013

Miami - 2013

Saints - 2013

Falcons - 2013

Bears - 2014

Browns - 2014

The ones less than 3 are not very impressive. You only need a long fg...

It has a ton to do with our playstyle. In the past two years we haven't been down by more than three that many times. When we were it was usually complete blowouts. It's a pretty specific stat when you think about it. 16 games a year, you have to be losing by more than 3 but not completely blow out. How many chances did we have?

Well..  to be honest,  some of those games were over at halftime.  Can't be down by 2 or 3 scores going into the half...and hope to catch up,  with our 8 minute long drives that kill the clock.. finally score a TD,  kick the ball back to the other team........and then watch them drive down the field in 2 minutes to score again.    Rinse,  repeat for another of our 8 minute drives.

We aren't built to be a quick strike offense.    We're built to kill the clock and pray to god our defense doesn't let the other team score.          You'd think with our defense hemorraging points for 3 out of the last 4 years,  that the Panthers would say screw it,  lets build around pushing the ball down the field quickly.

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
