"The last 6 games"

Jeremy Igo

Recommended Posts

Every year since he was hired - sans 2013 -  we've rallied after shitting the bed and underachieving for half a season. That's Carolina's thing under Ron, we make garbage time runs, talk about learning and making the next step, then repeat the cycle. The only reason this year looks better than the other 2 is because of our horrible division and that we got lucky and drew the one team anyone would beat for our first Playoff game.

But yeah, one winning season out of four. Stay the fuging course.

What's wrong with using that phrase? It's not like he didn't address the 10 games before that either. He mentioned that the first 10 games were ugly and that's why he made some of the changes he made. He was just saying that you really saw the team get healthy and come to live in the last 6 games which is true.  No need to hate on Rivera because he did a heck a job when it mattered and just got out matched on the road by the team that is probably going to win the Superbowl for the second straight year. Why would anyone want Rivera gone? So we can make a change that will only set things even father back and hire a different coach who we will probably all want fired within 3 years anyways.

Stick with Rivera because he's done a nice job with the cards he has been dealt and has the players respect. We probably wouldn't hire someone better than him anyways

Sadly, I seen this coming with us making playoffs. Rivera gets another year and we lose 15 draft spots. It was fun, but long term, not sure it'll be worth it.

Going to the playoffs is always worth it. RR is actually a pretty good coach. Sad that people don't really see it.

holy poo...

it's over.. people are now ok with Ron fuging Rivera being our HC.

Does it matter what we think? The players love playing for him. It has been quoted a lot. There is a very good reason why Jim Harbaugh is not with the 9ers anymore. The team simply didn't like playing for him.

Exact opposite with RR.

Players loved Fox too. There comes a point where you run your business like a business and not keep guys simply because they are nice.

I'd love working for millions for a boss who is clueless to my performance issues and guarentees a job regardless, who wouldn't?  Doesn't mean I'm going to be successful, most likely, won't be.  Same thing here.

And Harbough isn't with the 49ers because he didn't get along with the GM, nothing to do with the players.

Most common phrase used by Rivera in his press conference.

Seems he is only interested in looking at the past 6 games, exactly 1/3 of the entire season.

Is this what a good boss does?

Maybe next year we just don't watch until the last 6 games.

They need to look at the coaching staff as much as personnel. They took 12 games to make adjustments. That is pathetic.

It's not just that the players like playing for him, he's good at motivating the players and keeping them focused on the next game. This is a key part of successful teams, you don't look at past/future games. You look at the next game and leave it all on the field.

The thing I'd pick up Rivera on is his intensity in training, he needs to be better preparing game level intensity in practice.

Didn't he already address the other 2/3 of the season when he either cut or benched most of our secondary.... and when he finally found an Oline combination that worked,  except for Bell?

how about clock management, player evaluation, coach evaluation, in game adjustments, in game decision-making, and game planning? rivera lacks almost every skill needed to be a successful head coach.

Yes he did. But looking at the big picture doesn't make a good seed for a good old bitchfest.
