Let's talk about Fozzy...

Like another poster said, Fozzy is a good change of pace back. He provides solid depth, but will most likely always be a #2 or #3 back. I just don't see him ever being a full-time starter. With that being said, we will most definitely draft a runningback in this year's draft. We would be stupid not to, considering how deep the RB's are this year. If we can pick up an OT in the FA, then we might take a DE in the first, and since receivers are also deep this year, we could grab a RB in the 2nd ONLY if Gurley is still there. If not, then I wouldn't mind taking Tevin Coleman in the 3rd or Mike Davis. But Gurley is without a doubt the most NFL ready back. When he's back to 100%, watch out. I think it makes sense for us to take him, with Stew, Fozzy, and Reaves and maybe an UDFA RB on the depth chart, Gurley can take it slow and try and contribute later on in the season.

Only the NFL put 7+ in the box. Most +premiered collegiate running backs are going up against zone passi g defenses with open space to gain yards.

Finding rbs that are actual rbs are rare and coveted...not a dime a dozen

Fozzy's only 25.

He'll be 26 in 2 weeks. He won't be starting this year and likely not the year after, and typically RBs start to decline at 28. So he's not the option after Stew. I definitely want to keep him as our change of pace behind Stew, but he's not going to be our starter after Stew, IMO. Would be solid the next few years if Stew has injuries, but this year showed that we really don't have much depth at RB. Fozzy has been plagued by injuries like Stew has, D-Will is gone and was trash, Tolbert has kind of sucked and don't get me started on Reeves.

Yeah good point. I don't really think anyone wants him to start per se anyways, just get lots of Sproles type touches. Until we can find someone better.

Fozzy is a good backup but i look for Dave Gettleman to draft another RB in the latter rds,as well as get at least one UDFA RB.

Why draft a secondary rusher when we have Whitaker? Whitaker is solid and we paid Stewart for two or three more seasons to bs tgs feature back?

I'm among tgs group that thinks we can get a RB off the street if need be as long as he is in shape and runs north and south.

Stewart, Cam +whoever the heck you want to throw pig there is solid.

Heck, half our fan base is in emotional distress about our RB salary base...

If you can run the ball and hold onto it, you are an asset to the NFL.

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
