Jon Beason as backup LB?

Beason is not fast enough to play on the outside. He's a great guy,someone i always liked but at this stage in his career, Jon would only serve us as a backup MLB,a position best filled by a younger player ,in my opinion.

Klein is the starting OLB and Glanton is an OLB. The only backup MLB we have is Jacobs and Blackburn.

Klein is a fully capable MLB, which is his natural, and arguably better, position. With Glanton's potential and whoever is drafted/signed, I wouldn't be surprised to see AJ penciled as the backup.

Agreed - it's funny how many people forget just how average, or worse, Beason was on the outside. Guy is an MLB through and through.

I wouldn't mind us signing him especially if we loose Blackburn. Beason can also play OLB and when he's healthy he can play well. I would prefer he play back up which would keep him off the field some and limit the chance of injury.
