Although this year may not be a great year to improve OT its a great year to improve WR and TE. Moore,Tate, maybe Ginn, and cecil shorts could all be had for a resnalble amount. On the TE side you have Jordan Cameron, Vergil Green, and Owen Daniels.  Add that to one of the better drafts for WR and we might be able to fix a long time problem in a year.

Eh, Moore is down the list on the guys I'm interested in.  He's like Lafell, shown just enough to make me think he can be a solid #2, but never shown enough to convince me that he could even be even a decent #1 in case of an injury.  Nicks, Shorts, and Torrey Smith have all shown flashes as a good #1 before, those are guys I'd rather give a shot.

Shorts' injury history reads like a grocery list. Nicks has had his injury issues as well. Smith hasn't shown the athleticism or versatility that Moore has, and if those guys have shown flashes of being a WR1, then Moore has as well. I consider all of them WR2s with a certain degree of WR1 upside depending on the circumstances,

    • He has attempted 8 shootout goals in his NHL career and made 1. He is among our worst SO guys on the entire roster in terms of career stats.
    • Against Miami, the Panthers were behind by 17 in the 2nd quarter facing a 4th - 5. Young completed a 21 yard pass and they went on to score 7 on that drive. Then in the 4th, down by 4, they faced a 4th - 5 and again, he completed a 17 yard pass and they went onto score a TD for the win. He also accounted for 2 of the 3 TD's.  As I said, he got them in that mess and no doubt, Rico gets credit as well, but missing on either of those 4th down conversions hands the ball over and results in 1 or 2 less TD's giving them a loss. As you said though, that's just a small quibble. The real question is how does the FO see it?  I am guessing they see it as something to build on. I think most peope here see it as a total loss and fully expect the FO to see it that way as well. Time will tell.
    • Kochetkov is just too streaky. TBD if Freddie is doing that too. Freddie is the more reliable goalie over his career. The Bussi kid looks like he could be a solid #2 eventually.  Just need to figure out the #1 guy. Same as almost every year. It's not talent, it's consistency and being able to step up in the playoffs.
