Public Service Announcement: Pushover GM vs. Results GM

Players always say "it's a business" until they're given the business by the only team they've ever played for. Then those feelings come out. I would imagine it's only natural. I would cry if I got released and knew the end was near.

steve smith did the same thing.  when jake delhomme got released he was actually pretty icy about it and kind of said the same stuff.

then the impossible happened to him and oh poo look out

The next few days will be full of rumors and speculation based on DeAngelo's comments. I am not sure about the funeral stuff. It certainly doesn't sound like the Panthers. Keep this in mind. The NFL is a huge business and our favorite organization is transitioning from a pushover GM that cried at retirement press conferences and paid players for past performance to a GM that was hired to right a ship heading towards a rocky shoreline. Feelings are going to be hurt when you go through a culture change.

I agree to an extent, but so far he's been handed a 12-4 team and turned it into a 7-9 team. Let's not get his pants down just yet.

You're losing the election, you need to retool your campaign. Invent a crisis.

Players getting cut is part of the business.  Treating them like poo while doing so to inflate your own Soprano-wanna-be ego is another.

Karma is a bitch, and will come down hard on Gettledouche.  Book it.

yeah look at how bad the merciless fates have been to bill belichick

this is how real teams are run bitchboy

well for the first time in their brief history the panthers are actually winning and drafting well and making personnel moves that sort of halfway make sense in terms of setting the team up for future success

but our GM has an ego (based on my own half-cocked observations also he's a yankee) so he's a douchebag

He was handed a 7-9 team, turned it into a divisional round team, gutted it, then turned it into another divisional round team with a brighter future.

    • For me, no issue going WR - as long as he can tackle when we move him to MLB
    • He was pretty highly touted that year by all the draftniks. But he's one of those small school guys who you do have to pay attention to his workout numbers since he was playing against lower level competition. All his draft hype was about his great athleticism and potential, then he went to the Combine and posted very pedestrian measurable. 5.33 40 time, 29.5" vertical, 26 reps on the bench. Overall he had the 19th ranked athleticism score among DTs that year. No one would've been complaining in hindsight about drafting a DT had we drafted Chris Jones who was picked 8 spots after we drafted Butler.
    • We have one of the best young WR duos in the league with TMac and Coker. Could use a solid vet #3 option, but that's not terribly hard to find. You could make the argument that every other part of the roster needs long term upgrades before WR. OT - Icky injured, Moton aging, big question mark moving forward here Interior OLine - OG is great but center position is a big question mark, with injuries stacking up on Corbett and BC, and Mays being a free agent  (could definitely change though if we re-sign Mays) RB - Dowdle most certainly gone, not suggesting spending a 1st on RB but still, need a replacement here TE - Meh overall, basically have three guys who are backup #2 level TEs, could use a top end starter QB - lol LBer - horrible group, definitely needs upgrades Secondary - Mike Jackson could be playing himself out of our price range and 100% could use a new FS Edge - Scourton looks promising long term but need more here in this unit, obvious weak spot DT - Brown is a beast, but outside of him very thin   WR is the ONE position on the entire roster where we're actually looking great moving forward lol TLDR --> this mock is retarded
