Rather just have Ginn. Ginn's probably equal on punts maybe even better, is a much better receiver, is familiar with our system, and will come cheaper.

Ginn and Jones were drafted the same year (2007, Ginn in the 1st, Jones in the 3rd) but Jones is a year older.

 

Career stats are so close in nearly every area that the differences are negligible.

You are right they both put up the same numbers.

 

However: 

Ted Ginn, Jr. : 406 Targets / 211 Receptions

Jacoby Jones: 353 Targets / 203 Receptions

 

Jones has better hands than Ginn and is taller (6'2" - 5'11")

General perception is that Jones is a better receiver than Ginn, but I'm not sure he's that much better.

 

The height thing could matter to Gettleman though.

For the right price he's a solid #3 and return man.

I think we can attribute Jacoby's production fall off to artist formely know as 89. Definitely worth a look.. seems to be a little more consistent than Ginn and has a few inches on him.

 

But Teddy would probably come cheaper AND already has an established chemistry with Cam.
