we won't sign anyone until next week at the earliest.  the 1st week is for over paying, the 2nd week is for value.  that's our neighborhood.

Normally, I'd agree with ya.

But Voth has repeatedly stated that the Panthers will sign someone this week (just not tomorrow).

The panic is gonna be so awesome to watch.

Yeah it is. Imagine how many people are gonna scream "ZOMG NO MONIEZ WHAT DONT U UNDERSTAND" when somebody suggests we look at someone.

I know it happens every year and we should expect it, but still it's always crazy to see. All the pseudo-intellectuals with their "cool guy" posts man it really is a trip.

when was the last time we picked someone up (that wasn't already on the roster) on the first day of FA?

that's just not something that we do.

and i can't say that bothers me in the least.

first day of FA is when teams in panic overpay for overhyped players.

Prime Example: Jairus Byrd with the Saints last year.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
