Really. Crabtree would be a decent pick up, and im sure the market isn't throwing out huge bucks at him. He could be cheap.

incarcerated bob is a guy who got him name on WFAN, the sports radio station for the NY/NJ area. He use to call this show called the Boomer and Carton Show (craig carton and boomer esiason) all the time and tell ridiculous stories and make up fake rumors. they use to go along with it because they knew he was a joke. he got the name incarcerated bob because he claims to have hit another fan with a barstool at a bar while watching a football game.

he is literally never right.

We need speed. Crabtree is not our guy.

we have Ginn as our speedy gonzalez, speed kills, but I think it's more imperative to have a polished receiver with solid hands, a high motor, excellent route running and toughness.

I just don't know how tough Crabtree is. but tough is definitely a must from our #2. Toughness is why Bersin kept his spot on the roster. it can't be taught and it is a must on whomever is signed and added to the receiving corp.

I'm not talking Steve Smith spitting venom tough, I'm talking high concentration while securing the ball regardless of where on the field the route is run and regardless of what defenders are in the area.

did you even read my question?

I did but I said earlier in the thread that the Eagles will be able to out bid us if they wanted and the QB situation doesn't matter.

If both are offering a one year prove it deal than yeah he's obviously better off with Cam.

some of incarcerated bob's rumors:

lebron james has failed multiple steroid tests and the NBA is covering it

taj boyd is an addictive gambler

Deron Williams would not re-sign with the Nets under any circumstances

zach parise was a done deal to the pittsburgh penguins

steve nash will sign with the toronto raptors

steve nash spurns raptors and agrees to deal with new york knicks

dwight howard will sign with nets whenever he hits free agency

knicks will match any offer for jeremy lin

so what i can conclude is that michael crabtree may sign with 28 teams, the will not sign with eagles, titans, or panthers.

Philly is also fast, we could add both more speed and route running a be good. Lets face it if we go into the season with KB,Ginn,Philly,Crab/Short/Johnson/Moore, and Cotchery thats not all that bad. We could even draft another guy and still not have a log jam because lets face it Bersin is not going to make any good NFL roster.

We need a couple of those spots for The trenches. Bersin should not be on the active roster...just like you said. Neither should Cotchery, but they were the only two, with the exception of Olsen and KB making the occasional midfield grab, tough enough to play the slot and come away with a possession in the mid field.

so we have a need for what they do, but it's ridiculous how low their value actually is and there is no reason why we shouldn't have a true #2 before this season starts that can replace both of Those guys and their production.

heck, It stinks that we have to have a return specialist that has a hard time catching the long ball and a deep threat receiver that can't return the ball.

We basically have 4 one trick pony receivers when we should be looking for a player who can do all four of those things.

That would be the dream scenario and it should be a priority.

No harm in taking a look and offering a fair contract.

Theres still quite a bit of WR talent left on the table that we should look at.  Crabtree, britt, nicks and stevie johnson come to mind.  I'm not saying jump on them and hand them a fat contract, but see what they can bring to the table and what their price is.

    • He can be our post injury Delhomme in 2008. I am fine with Hubbard and Dowdle being our Willliams and Stewart.    Canales has some eating to do and hair to grow if he’s going to be Jeff Davidson tho.
    • This season was about continuing to dig ourselves out of the crater Fitterer (and by extension Young with the three first round picks we traded for him) buried us in. Tepper is determined to make Bryce happen, so we're forced to play him at QB and adjust around his obvious inadequacies.
    • Has nothing to do with the yards per carry, like at all. It's that 17 of his 25 passes were less than 10 yards downfield, against the worst pass defense in the league.  It's another game where Bryce's passing attempts were mostly dink and dunk type of passes. I wasn't asking us to throw it more yesterday, hell, if anything, you could make an argument that with how we were running it, we should have thrown it less than 25 times anyways.  It's that we still threw it 25 times but only had 8 of them where the ball was thrown 10+ yards downfield. Our schedule takes a dramatic shift after this week, even next week against the Jets, they have a decent defense for a team that hasn't won a game yet.  This was a great opportunity to allow Bryce to throw the ball downfield more against the worst pass defense in the league, hence I'd just have liked to see more than 8 of 25 passes be thrown further than 10 yards downfield. IF we were going to throw it 25 times against Dallas, I'd have liked to see a good 12-15 of them be further than 10 yards downfield, let Bryce work on his weakness against the worst pass defense in the league, not throw more dink and dunk passes per usual.
