Saints attempting to trade WR Kenny Stills

I'd love to get him.  BUT what's the cost?  2nd-3rd?  No way.  A fourth rounder?  Now that makes it interesting.  I wonder why they are shopping him?  Are they going to completely try to rebuild because Brees feels like he can play another 5 years?

I get it's not cap related, but why the hell would you get rid of such a promising talent??

Not sure. Rumors here were that coaches and management were very upset about the attitude in the locker room last year. Immature was thrown around a lot. It's very apparent they aren't happy and they're doing something about it.

I don't like getting rid of young talent on a cheap contract though. Loomis said everyone was under evaluation. He wasn't lying.

Stills was like a 5th round pick whose numbers have been inflated by Brees. We're also in a league where Brandon Marshall went for a 5th and the Texans couldn't find a taker for Andre Johnson.

He's younger on a miniscule contract, so it's not cap related, but still. No higher than a 6th, but they'll never trade him here anyway.

Marshall and Johnson also have big contracts and are much older. Not saying a second is reasonable, but I don't know that a 4th/5th or even a 3rd is all that unlikely.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
