Raiders in discussions with Greg Hardy

One of the top-rated free agents left in the Class of 2015 has caught the eye of the Raiders.

According to Jordan Schultz of the Huffington Post and NBC Sports Radio, the Raiders are “in discussions” with Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy.

PFT’s Mike Florio confirms the Raiders have interest in Hardy, who is on the commissioner’s exempt list stemming from domestic violence charges that were dismissed in February after he was found guilty in an earlier bench trial. The NFL has ruled that Hardy can sign with a club, though more discipline is possible.

What a surprise.

    • That was my thought originally, but so many of the beat writers have mentioned keeping 7 WRs in conversations that I went with that, at least for the purposes of this projection. But you're right that historically defensive guys who were standouts at ST have tradionally gotten those last spots
    • 2 and its not particularly close.  Aisle seat is nice for bathroom access and the goofball proximity is high.
    • Jones is Sam Darnold? If Sam Darnold were here, he would be starting over Bryce. Bryce and Jones would be a competition. From when Rhule got fired to now, Darnold has looked like a first round QB. Made a mistake by letting him go and trading up for Bryce.  Before you say anything about the Vikings, I said this same thing in 2023.
