Veteran WRs getting no interest

if any of you think we would be able to sign more than one of these players, please get it out of your head...cause it ain't gonna happen and we don't have the free cap space, so if you can't understand that and get it through your head, I'm gonna for sure put you on ignore because it's utter nonsense.

it's gonna be tough enough just to get inked one of these players and I can just about promise you it will be the cheapest of the remaining high profile WRs that could get signed, if we sign any of them at all.

One of the dumbest posts I've ever read.

I don't know if I would go that far.

Look at all the WR's that went in the first round of the draft last year (Watkins, Evans, Beckham Jr, Cooks, Benjamin).

There hasn't been a high first round used pick used on an RB since Trent Richardson in 2012, and we know how that turned out.

I should have worded that better.

The vet WR market is being pushed down.  That's what I meant.

Back in the day, it was really hard for a rook WR to make noise, now you are seeing it more and more.  You don't have to have that highly paid vet no. 1 to make the passing game work any longer.

I'm not saying I don't want a nasty WR, only that the huge money WR deals may start becoming fewer and fewer.  Take a look at Megatron and Fitz's deals...whew, I'm so glad we don't have that on the books.

One thing that it appears Gettleman is much better than his predecessor at doing is reading the market and effectively predicting the trends going on in the NFL. With names like Crabtree, Bowe, Jennings, and Nicks still on the market, teams that made an early jump at receivers have to be feeling somewhat silly. Plus there's likely to be more veteran WR cuts after the draft, so this has definitely become a buyer's market for receivers.

Or he just doesn't plan on signing a WR...

We'll find out eventually

Remember to it was a record breaking year for WRs entering the draft with their rookie contracts. Could be a supply demand issue.

Agreed.  How would you feel paying Maclin 11M per year, or Smith 8M per?

That's insane.

I'm not asking for an All-Pro to be signed, I'm just asking for a better veteran WR option than Jerricho Cotchery.  I don't think that will be too hard or too expensive to accomplish.

I definitely think we'll see another veteran WR added, I just don't know exactly who or when.
