Would you be mad if gettleman chose Todd Gurley as our first round pick?

Gettleman couldve afforded himself this luxury if he had bothered to address the team's needs in free agency. He is waiting for the draft instead and will be forced to address them there.

I think he addressed a few needs in FA...

Would it really be a luxury pick? I mean, Stewart will be 28 tomorrow. Let's say that he has another good two or three years, presuming that he is with us (and restructures and all that), then he is bound to start slowing down. Gurley may just be entering his prime at the ripe old age of 23 or 24. And all this is assuming that Stewart can stay on the field for an appreciable amount of time.

Whitaker just doesn't do it for me. He is a journeyman back who is good as an RB3, not a full time starter.

We also could pick up a rb when that time comes instead of drafting gurley. Rb is the easiest plug and play position IMO, we barely could find a way to get both stew and d will involved enough I think that would be the same if we draft gurley.....there's not enough touches to go round unless a injury occurs.

I'm a fan of offensive playmakers at any skill position.  Sure running backs are devalued as a whole but if you have a change of pace guy who can bust out a huge TD run at any time, that's a huge asset especially in a Shula offense.

I like Whittaker as much as the next guy but I think it'd be sick to have a physical-but-speedy playmaking RB to add in the mix.  We've got an elusive shifty receiving back in Fozzy but we have an opening to fill with a playmaker.

Gurley I'm totally ok with in the first but I wouldn't take Gordon.  He had large paths paved for him by the Wisconsin OL which is always great so when it comes to hitting a line in the NFL, it's a different story.  I really like Duke Johnson (2nd/3rd) though, he's not afraid to bust through the line and find the small creases and make a big run out of it.  For being smaller, he's a physical back and took some licks in college.
