Gettleman on Sirius NFL Radio 3/24/2015

Thanks for the write-up, OP.

So, we're drafting a RB. Gurley in the 1st, or a guy like Duke Johnson in the 2nd/3rd...or just actual depth later in the draft is the question.

Also on Oher, if GMan watched that much tape and, with Matsko, believes in the guy, I'll hope for the best. A mildly realistic dream I wouldn't mind seeing by the way, is La'el Collins slide to 25, and we draft him to play RT beside his college buddy Trai. Let Remmers and Oher be the stop-gap in 2015 at LT, and once we get cap space, sign a legit LT in 2016 (should neither Oher or Remmers be up to par).

I can't believe there are some actual fans that despise this man for previous regime issues and calculated (yet cold) business tactics. Gettleman is a TRUE General Manager. We are damn lucky to have him. The Panthers organization is trending upward because of him.

It's actually more like ↔️↗️↘️ At this point since he's gotten here. Let's be objective here, we went from 7-9, to 12-4, to 7-8-1. Applaud him all you want but you are what your record says you are. The game ain't played on paper, and despite back to back division titles, we've yet to put together back to back winning seasons.

One of the more charming attributes of Gman ( other than always clearing his throat) is his self-depracating nature. In a previous Sirius interview last month at the combine he was asked about how the Panthers turned their season around. He said that they had lost their belief in themselves and so after Thanksgiving he addressed the team and told them that they could win out but that they had to believe in themselves first. Of course, they went out that w/e and laid an egg in Minnesota.

He's definitely talking about ball/Jennings since they've both been in for visits

I'm interpreting it more as the cap space is almost to the point where we can actually be players in FA. Not to the extend of going after the first wave of reckless spending, but being able to offer fair contracts to the Jennings and Balls of FA.

2 great drafts to build upon so far, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel concerning our cap hell and this upcoming deep draft class with 2 comp picks. We're close.

- Says that last year when we were 3-8-1 if the locker room was toxic, we would have finished at 3-12-1. But we have a strong locker room that believes in Rivera and in what we do.

Really like this point.

However it's tempered in Gett's belief in Oher. Cam got his ass kicked last year when Getts suggested the answer to the Oline is on the roster. Early it wasn't.

We need to hit the field in 2015 with an Oline ready to do its part.

And Op, great job, best thread I've read in a long time.

Looks like it may be Gurley.

I won't complain. Imagine potentially having the talent of a young Adrian Peterson in the same offense with a Cam Newton. Those are some serious weapons and may be too much for Gett to pass on.

Man....take records out of it all together. Pretend like the last two seasons were just prep to get to 2016. Just look at the young, developing talent that is mixing in with the core group of leaders. Does that not get you excited for the future?
