Isn't this the same guy who broke down Benjamin last year too?

 

Yep, he really liked KB.  Basically said that he was a little bit slower version of Calvin Johnson and that a lot of teams would end up regretting passing on him.

 

With that said, he also really didn't like Kony Ealy.  Said he didn't get the hype at all.  Definitely not a 1st rounder and maybe not even a 2nd.  His point was that there was nothing special about him.  Not exceptional athletically and unpolished in his pass rushing moves.

I like the breakdown. Seems pretty realistic and pragmatic. If he fell to 25 and we took him I would be happy with that. Seems like he would be a solid #2WR with KB for a long time. Additionally, we need guys who have great hands. Cam's biggest fault may be his accuracy and guys that have sticky hands are a plus for us. A lot of the highlights in the article showed him catching with his hands and not his body. Looks like a good WR to me and would be happy to have him on the team.

Well we took Benji in the first and Ealy in the late second, almost 3rd... 

 

And Benji showed up and Ealy took most of the season to get going... This guy might be on to some things...

 

I would be perfectly fine if we drafted Strong.

Yeah, I don't necessarily disagree with anything he said about Ealy and he was likely available at the bottom of the 2nd for the very reasons he stated.

 

In terms of other prospects this year, he thinks Dante Fowler is the biggest boom/bust prospect in the draft.  He thinks Amari Cooper may slip in the draft because he is TOO polished.  I get what he's saying.  Cooper really doesn't make many jaw dropping plays and NFL teams are probably going to wonder what his ceiling is and if he's a finished product.  Even if he is, he should still be damn good, but does a guy like Kevin White maybe have a higher ceiling?  He thinks Kevin White is the 1st WR off the board due to upside.  He loves La'el Collins - as a LT.  Says he's "boring" to watch and that's a great thing.  Very fluid and very consistent.  He's worried about weight issues with Ereck Flowers.  Says if weight issues aren't a concern, he's a lock somewhere between #20 and the bottom of the 1st.  Best case scenario, you have a LT.  Worst case, you have a mauling guard.  But, if weight issues are a concern, all bets are off.  He says that weight issues scare with OL prospects scare teams more than anything else.

Basically White cautions us that Strong has a big chance of being a total bust, but at #25 beggers can't be choosers (or can we?) and that he would feel more comfortable if Strong was like KB (a freak size WR as opposed to a regular size WR):

"one only has to look at a guy like Cordarrelle Patterson, the Vikings' first round pick from two years ago, to understand the risk of taking Strong too high in the draft. While Patterson came out like gangbusters as a return man, his slow evolution into a bona fide receiver frustrated the Vikings' coaching staff last season to the point that he basically ended the year benched in favor of a former seventh-round pick on his third team (Charles Johnson). That ain't good.

I always worry about "regular" sized receivers (like Strong/not like KB) who are not good route runners. Those guys are going to see top-notch corners every week in the NFL, and guys who are a lot closer to their size as well. In general, it's going to be a lot harder for them to make plays using just their athleticism on the next level... I'm still not sure who or what Jaelen Strong will be as a pro."

I don't see how Strong is the most intriguing WR in 2015...

Has he seen the dude from West Virginia?! Lol

 

Read the post I just made.  He loves White.  I think he finds Strong more "intriguing" because he seems to be all over the board when it comes to different analysts.  Some think he's a mid-1st rounder.  Some think he's not even in the 1st round discussion.  Everyone thinks White is a top 10 lock.

I really enjoy Stephen White's breakdowns. Not only on draft prospects but he does a weekly thing during the season where he breaks down film and puts out a gif heavy article to show what he's explaining. Not that this is a surprise but he loves the Panthers front 7 and has featured them a couple times during 2013 once focusing on Luke and TD and another time focusing on the D-Line.

      lol Honestly, it might sound dumb, but I've had this idea in my head of a specific picture I really want to get with him since draft night. Basically I want it to be of the two of us sitting on the floor next to each other with the picture from behind.  Ideally it would have been with us both wearing T-Mac jerseys (and me wearing an Arizona hat that has block A logo on the back of it too), but since they won't have baby versions of those for a bit and that does seem like a waste of money on something he'll grow out of in a few months, I think I'll go with this that I've found on Amazon for like 12 bucks........ I'll get this made with T-Mac's #4 but then my Nephew's first name (which incidentally starts with a T, so I've already joked to my sister that she needs to change his middle name to something with "Mc" or "Mac" in it so i can call him T-Mac lol) Just think that would make for a really cool picture for me to have of him at this age (just over 13 months now), with the two of us wearing our #4's.  It's the type of thing I can absolutely see myself getting it printed out by Shutterfly on one of those canvas like prints to hang on my wall. And seeing as they live in NYC with me in Michigan, not sure the next time I'll see him again as I can't just drive on down the street for a picture when the jersey arrives, so was hoping I'd be able to take advantage of seeing them at the end of the month to get this picture, but it would all be dependent on the jersey (and this custom onesie) being shipped in time.

      His piece of the pie is only going to get smaller unless there are serious injuries.  Unless the actual pie becomes that much larger, ie Bryce being Kurt Warner, I don't think there's room for him to breakout.  Just like there's not room for JT Sanders to break out beyond a couple hundred yards receiving and a few TDs. I don't think a lot of people understand the volume that XL got last year.
