We better do our best to get in the good graces of this kid. If all suspicions about him are cleared, then Jerry Richardson better not stand in the way of Gman trying to sign Collins.

You can flame all you want, but if we let this kid get away over some booooolsh*t, then that might be the best indicator that it's time for a new owner. You can't summarily dismiss Collins if it turns out that he is an innocent victim.

And, of course, it's all predicated upon you wanting him in the first place, which I don't see why we wouldn't, being that we likely had a second round grade on him.

I still think Trai Turner is our best chance at signing him. And that J.R. is our biggest roadblock and will ultimately cost us Collins.

Zod and Voth disagree.

Unless the police actually decide he's a suspect, the Panthers will be interested.

If he had any involvement, then I don't even need to state the obvious.

But if he had nothing to do with this (which I personally agree) then I hope a positive can come from this. Not the death of a mother and child obviously, as even the deepest devoted people can be hard-pressed to find any kind of silver lining to that tragedy.

But hopefully youngsters in college ball learn that the NFL doesn't love you. It will turn its back on you in a damn heartbeat. So please be smart in school, because there really are no "youthful transgressions" for college athletes anymore.

Top-10 talent goes undrafted because a day before the draft he's simply being talked to about a women's death.

I sort of doubt it as well. Some are saying he is a lock to start but I'm not sure it's a lock. He projects to be a RT and would be stacked against Remmers and Williams. At LT he's going against 2 other veterans. He should or could win either of these positions but it's not a lock.

We will be interested, but I bet the Bills will give him much more than we are willing/able to

Per CBA rules governing UDFAs the dollar amounts are pretty much exactly the same from all teams, maybe room for a few thousand difference in signing bonus or different levels of guarantees. This is why scheme fit, ability to play right away, and his preferred city are considered the main differentiators.

Like I said in another thread, why not just sign him? What's to lose? It's a low risk/high reward situation. If it turns out that he WAS involved in the murder, then you can just easily cut him. Pull the damn trigger. Would be a steal if it turns out he wasn't involved in the murder.

 

The risk is that if he is somehow involved he goes from being "La'El Collins" to "Carolina Panthers Lineman, La'El Collins".  Not saying it's right, but whatever team would sign him would forever be associated with him.

      Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!

      Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.

      OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
