Quick takes on Oher

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

From near the end of Rivera's post "day one of rookie camp" interview (link)

- Rivera says Oher has been at the facility "every day" since their offseason program started, "hasn't missed a day".

- Describes Oher as "involved with everything".

- Says he has "assimilated very nicely into our culture" and "fit very nicely with his teammates".

- States that Oher is a "very smart football player" and is transitioning well with the help of Coach Matsko.

Safe to say he's impressed Rivera so far, for what it's worth.

(granted, live bullets aren't flying yet)

But he's no La'el Collins so 2-14 AT BEST! Maybe 3-13 ;)

I want Rivera to say "Well, he's better than Byron so that's a start" haha jk

Seriously though, we've got our line shored up and as long as he can be adequate alongside Norwell-Kalil-Turner-Williams/Remmers, then we've got ourselves a squad ready to compete.  Not expecting Oher to completely turn it around just because he's back with his old coach but if he's trying this hard and is a cultural fit, there could be something.  I have a feeling he can do perfectly fine in the right setting, this may be that setting.

Love the man.

Don't know why so much hate for the man. Had one average year with Balt and another bad season due to injury last year. Other than that he has been a very good player throughout his career and even better the SB year.

You are always the first to hate on someone especially someone as terrible as he's been. Good to see you've turned the corner. ;)

Rivera has been too much a fluffer of certain guys in the past. I want to believe him, but I've been lied to in the past.

Here's hoping Oher proves me wrong.

This.  Bell and Chandler were gonna be the answers last year.

I mean, I can't blame him.  What's he supposed to say?  "Holy poo, have you seen these guys???  They're fuging TERRIBLE!!!  We are so completely and utterly fuged that it ain't even funny!!!"

I pray to God he works out. Thanks for posting.

He's graded negatively on PFF every season since 2009.

Considering nobody but rookies are practicing in any way he can only comment on his involvement in his personaL preparation.
