I was legit worried about it, honestly. There's a track record. Sione Fua, Legadu Nane, Charles Godfrey, etc. Some people have just seemed safe in their starting role even when we're obviously better when they're on the bench. The fact that Silatolu was starting well into the season last year even when Velasco was a clear and present upgrade every time he came in was frustrating. It wasn't until well late into the season that Norwell got a look. There was a real chance that they'd still view the job as Silatolu's to lose.

I think Gettleman has learned that for better or for worse, Ron is his coach...and the only way to keep a kid from playing with his favorite torn up, bacteria trap of a teddy bear is to throw it in the dumpster, hence the getting rid of Byron Bell.

Hopefully Ron is learning that Gettleman has a keen eye for talent and they are working together to put the best team on the field.
