Steph Curry Charlotte Hornet?

LOL, I hadn't heard that.

Anyone that talks like that doesn't know much about basketball. Everyone is rusty until they start getting lots of practice in again. Heck, they are rusty in preseason too.

Oh yeah, of course a few media outlets were trying to run with that comment (Ewing said Kaminsky looked rusty during post practice questioning).

I think he will be a solid player for us. I'm almost certain he won't totally suck: too skilled for that to happen.

I am almost certain that Curry will wear a Hornets jersey...

...what I am not certain of is his age when he puts it on...

Apparently the new system merges multiple replies...just wanted to point that out in case anyone was wondering why most post consisted of two themes...lulz.

The sad thing is that even if we did land him as a FA, not even that could turn TWC Arena into anything close to Oracle Arena from a crowd energy perspective.  Right now, they deserve him more than we do because the passion of our fanbase doesn't translate into a home court advantage.

So fans are more enthusiastic about a team that wins 65 games and a championship as opposed to a team that wins 33...

Of course, looking at it after the fact, but they have a more amped up fanbase anyway IMO. I've watched them more than just their playoff run - I've had the privilege of attending two GS home games in the past. Those fans bring it.

Anyone else starts this thread and everyone flames.

Bottom line is we have to wait until the end of next season to find this out.... or we'll see him sign a 5-7 year extension before All Star break next year and this whole debate will be over.

He's under contract 2 more years.

CLT sold out every game, in the biggest arena in the league, for a decade to watch shitty teams play & even had parades for those same shitty teams. The Coliseum was the loudest arena in the league. TWC Arena was insane last fall for the Hornets comeback on opening night. CLT is in one of the biggest basketball hotbeds in the country and the fan base is here. Folks love the Hornets. It's a sleeping giant that just needs a little poking. Through a simple name change you could see it bubbling up and peeking out of the shadows. Between the Shinn trainweck, Bob Johnson circus, 7 win "rebuild" season, losing seasons, poor drafting & failed Hornets season last year folks are over it. Put a 65 W Hornets team led by Steph Curry playing in the Finals & TWC Arena would make Oracle look like a child's sand box. I've been to Oracle before, when the team sucked, as they mostly always have. Place was about as loud as a funeral home.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
