Anyone else a total sucker for the NBA Summer League?

I have to hand it to the NBA. They time their summer league perfectly, particularly for guys like me who are all pumped up after the draft and are eager to have their $14.99 capitalized on.

The funny thing is...I am nearly always disappointed with the product that is the NBA Summer League: it tends to be a bunch of guys chucking up shots and taking away from the opportunities of the players we actually want to evaluate...

...but I still buy it...

Like Madden...every year...I buy an underwhelming product...I just cannot learn...

Yes.  I can't wait...   I love the SL.  I've watched it every year, and always will, as imo, this period between the NBA Finals and training camp is the WORST time of year in sports.

If we don't call for coaches to be fired and players to be cut and seasons to be over in the SL game threads, we're doing it wrong.

Wife asked,"What did you spend $15.00 on from the appstore?"

I said Summer League.

"Is that another fantasy thing?"

"No, its like pre-preseason basketball for the rookies and hopefuls."

"Don't you complain that they make you buy football preseason games?"

"Yeah...(pause for pondering).  Touche"

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
