Now that Martin has retired, will Gettleman sign a free agent OT?

I don't see any gain.

Collins would be a solid swing tackle and backup for us. You really don't see him being a gain over Wallace and Foucalt at backup LT? There would be no harm at all, he wouldn't get much more than the min. He was arguably the best swing tackle in the league with the Bengals. Yeah he was truly truly terrible with the Bucs. But the rest of his work as a backup outweighs his one poor year as a starter. He's more fit to be a backup.

I just found out about this place today. I don't know how it has been hiding from me.

Just opened a week ago dude.  Everything I've heard is awesome about it.  Three floors, one floor for NC beers.  A pool on the top deck, with a cocktail bar outside.  They said at night they turn it into like a Hawaiian themed place.  They said 366 beers on tap in the most at a bar in the world.

So in essence, Raleigh/Durham>Charlotte right now.  Eat it haters

I'll take a young unknown who might turn out to be decent over a guy I already know is bad.

That's how we got guys like Fozzy Whittaker.

It's also how we got guys like Nate chandler and Byron bell. Sometimes a change of scenery and a new position coach is all these guys need to become an adequate player in this league. This is the exact argument we are all making in defense of Oher.

yeah that's exactly what i was thinking when i read that post too.  isn't that exactly what we're all hoping is going to happen with michael oher?

tampa bay was a black hole last season and there's no telling what a change of scenery could do for him.  he's at least shown something before if only for one season.  plus he'd come cheap and with minimal risk.

Yeah, he wouldn't be expensive either.  The risk would be quite low as well.

My guess is that we evaluate our OT during the first week or so of camp.  If he's not satisfied, he brings somebody in.  It will still leave enough time to gel with team in preseason.  Or he could take the wait and see what's available approach after roster cuts to 53.

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
