Seattle will not be able to keep him.

Per year, Seattle’s outlay for the 10 players: $97.38 million.

Maybe, maybe not.  The cap is suppose to be 160 million or so by 2017, so it would depend on how well they manage the rest of their players, and how well they draft.  But I agree that its probably unlikely they keep all of those guys.  Fwiw, I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of those guys are gone by then.  Marshawn Lynch for example is entering his 9th season.  I wouldn't be surprised if he retired in a year or two.

They can structure it to make it work.  Lynch's contract will probably be dropping off in two years anyway.  He's 29 and everyone knows what happens to RBs at 30.

Read this article.  In order for this to "work", there can be no restructures.  overthecap.com/the-seahawks-superstar-roster-strategy/#more-10427

We really don't know how Gettleman will approach free agency in the future.  We know how he's approached it while we've been relatively cap strapped with contracts that need to be shed, but I wouldn't necessarily just assume that is how he will always approach free agency.

With that said, if Okung did hit the open market, I wouldn't expect us to be major players in that sweepstakes.  A plug and play top 10 LT in the prime of his career?  He'll get PAID.

I think the plan has transformed into finding a LT in FA following this season after not drafting guys.  We'll have more money, and there are a few potential guys out there.  Hey Trent Williams, leave that shithole in DC and come on down.

Gettleman is such a wildcard with how he wheels and deals I'm fairly certain you are correct. The mans crazy with his check book.
