Best way to tell my boss to fug off? (Working on Sundays)

Long story short my boss scheduled me to work Sunday Sept 13th (the opener). Typically I get out of working Sundays by saying I can't work for religious reasons (lol) but I've been working the past few Sundays to pick up extra shifts so that probably won't fly at this job. I value my Sundays during the fall/winter as its really the only day I get to do absolutely nothing but sit on my ass and watch football.

What do you do and what are the scheduling policies?  At this point, you've set the precedent that you're available on Sundays and will need to reset the expectation by talking directly with your boss about it.  As far as what to say, you know best because you know your boss but agreed that your religious excuse won't work.

Pssssttt,  I still work on Sundays...  I'd show up around 8am and leave around 11am.  In this 3 hours I get more work done than I do during regular work day.

Get DVR CamMoon.  Having a job is more important than watching Panthers on LIVE tv.  I'd start looking for a job that not open on Sundays.

If you work in the service industry you're pretty much boned. Not a lot of people get their Sundays off and if they do it's only because they've been working there for years and have some sort of pull.

You had a good thing going with the religious thing but you likely blew it by letting your boss know you're okay working Sundays. You can't just go and undo that now.

    • I think you should see the OP for pretty big reasons why that is a completely incorrect take given this is a Dave Canales team.
    • TMac is a good player and would've been the right pick if our QB could throw a ball farther than 40 yards. For this team's current build (run first, game management passing attack) and the fact that our TE's are laughably bad - the five on our roster have combined for less than 600 yards total, with 3 TDs - Warren should've been the pick.
    • If anyone feels like they can't have a conversation about Bryce Young nearly three full seasons into his career maybe assess why and how these conversations end this way instead of looking to shoot the messenger. Why is it okay to label anyone else on the team or coaching staff trash? Folks on the huddle and across the fanbase on social media have fully thrown anyone and everyone including rookie 8th overall pick TMac fully under the bus multiple times this season. But some of you guys apparently expect a pat on the back because Bryce Young successfully evaded a few potential sacks while Tyler Shough got consumed by our pass rush throughout the game and still had a superior performance. The state of this division is hilariously mediocre at best. Bryce Young is the only player on this roster who is allowed to have the lowest bar possible yet we have invested the most resources in him. It's lunacy.
