Deangelo Williams throwing shade at Panther fans?

The official Steelers website asked Williams three reasons why he loves being a Steeler.

Reason number three:

"

Last, but not least, the fans,” said Williams. “I don’t know if there are more of them, or if they come with a little more fanatic to them. It’s different from what I have seen.”

Well, there defintiely is "more of" Steeler fans, as SCP will gladly point out.

We all know how Steeler fans are. We constantly bitch and moan about how they take over OUR stadium, how do you think they are at home? That franchise is older than dirt and they have multiple Superbowl trophies. Of course they are gonna support their team better than the wine and cheese crowd we have around here. Deangelo didn't say anything negative about the Panthers that we didn't already know. He was nothing but a model citizen and excellent teammate while he was here. The fact that anyone could even try to take offense to that statement shows how much of a fugging bitch you are. Get off his nuts. I'm happy that he's in a good place and hope he has much success. We released him for fug sakes. How could you have a problem with this guy?

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
