Y'all need to hear this. The KB injury sucks, but...

We will still win the division easily and you can quote me on this but it will just be hard to get past the Seahawks and Green Bay and other great teams without him. I'm not worried about the division I think we are basically being handed it with maybe a little push from the Falcons but their defense just isn't good enough and they still have no run game.

its just a tough low blow

Perspective. Last year we lost Hardy (without being prepared) CJ got hurt, Frank Alexander was suspended, Bene was a rookie, Harper was a starter, Ginn was gone, Funchess wasn't on the roster, Stewart was coming off injury, Oline was one of the worst in the league, Olsen's son was fighting for his life and Cam fugging Newton was never 100% all year.

KB going down sucks hard, but the south is still ours and the future is still brighter than last season.

On another positive note, Funchess will be forced into the number 1 spot now and gain a ton of experience this year, maybe even facing some double coverage if he performs at a high level. Assuming KB comes back next year healthy, him, Funchess and Olsen will be a scary trio.

I like some of our WRs...but,

We were already ass in the red zone.  And just lost a Top 10 red zone threat. Cam is inconsistent, OL who knows, and the play calling is Shula'd.  So many times last year, Cam just threw the damn thing up to KB and he made a play.  Losing KB is worse than losing damn near anyone on the team. I've still got faith we can win the division again...but damn.

honestly I think if you're on a team where you have to use Ted Ginn as a selling point for your WR core then you're in trouble.

Ginn at his best should be a deep threat #3. Thats it.

I think if this team was entering the season think we were gonna air it out as our selling point, we were in trouble. KBs loss sucks, there is no disputing that. But KB is much more replaceable than Cam or numerous defensive players on this team. If we can keep Stewart healthy and run the ball, we can beat anyone in the league.

two sides to that coin...throwing too much at a guy who isn't ready can actually hurt him.

KB's raw size and style aided him greatly.  Funchess plays so different it should take him longer to adjust IMO

No one is arguing the importance of Cam and the defense buts its not as simple as run the ball 40 times a game when your WR  core scares no one.

if you wanna go that route you have to have good Oline and lights out defense. We have a great defense but there were spurts last year where things were not lights out which people tend to forget and just pay attention to the highlights.

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
