J.Jones: Four players are on the roster bubble, need to play well

Brown doesnt need to be cut. He is fine as a WR3 or 4.

I think people are just mad that we havent tried to get a WR1 (or best we can get) to help us.

Philly was never suppossed to be a top 3 WR on this team. He was always suppossed to be behind KB, Funch and Olsen.

Problem is actually he's not even a fine receiver for any WR spot. Can't have a WR spot if you can't catch anything.

No true Panther fan should be wanting Philly to phail.  It just fuels the years of anger towards the FO that they haven't adequately addressed a glaring need.  Yes, KB went down unexpectedly, but that doesn't mean we should sit back and settle for Droppy McGee and just accept this poo.

If an NFL team loses one WR for the season, they shouldn't be stuck with a college-level depth chart waiting in the wings.

My personal current WR rankings:

1. I'm assuming Funchess goes here.  I'm going against my own opinion and eyes and trusting Gettleman on this one.

2. Ginn

3. Cotchery

4. Brown

5. Byrd

5. Norwood.  Same as #1, except I don't already have an opinion on him, I just know nothing about him. I vaguely recall looking him up last year during draft season, but don't remember what I saw from him.  Don't really know who to rank higher between him and Byrd, so I'll just make them both #5.

7. Bersin

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
