Pro Panther Businesses

A-Lock It Self Storage is a business in Fort Mill that I drive by every once in a while.  During the season, they like to put pro Panther messages on their sign board out front.  I've seen lots of them, but I think this week's is their best yet.

It reads something along the lines of "The Saints come marching in, but they'll go limping out".

Have you seen other businesses sporting their Panthers pride as well?  If so, who and where?

And does a business showing itself to be pro or anti Panthers affect whether or not you want to deal with them?

And just to be clear, I'm talking about businesses that don't have endorsement deals or are the "offical whatever of the Carolina Panthers".  The ones that do it just because...

And of course, if you want to call attention to businesses that traitorously support some other team, well that's been done here before also.

As a corollary to all of this, I will NEVER do business with Home Depot, not just because of their Falcons connection, but because Arthur Blank charges the military for advertising in the Dome, and made more than any other owner on them at that.  Say what you will about him, but JR treats our military folks well and doesn't charge them for the ads, etc.

My wife and I own a florist in Wilmington.  But, she is CEO, I am just a seasonal bucket washer (and have different career).  I occasionally push to put up pro Panther signage on our corner but she is (understandably) worried about that and won't let the sign be political or sports-oriented.

We do ad's on ESPN during Superbowl for Valentines push but this year we signed up to be a regular sponsor on the local Panther Radio Network.  Scoring some tickets AND sponsoring the Panthers = win/win!

For me, personally, if I know a restaurant/bar in CLT is a Steeler bar or Bills bar or Cowboys bar or Giants bar etc, I will not give them my business. That policy goes for every and any type of business. Why should I give my money to some asshole that will show up to BofA when his team comes to town and undoubtedly proceed to talk poo to Panther fans about the fuging local team? Then I'm supposed to break bread in this dickholes establishment? Heh,  screw that buddy. Support the local teams or suck it is the SCP policy.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
