And people bring up Norman's age: dude hasn't exactly racked up a lot of mileage. I'm looking at his Wikipedia page now: Apparently he was a 20-year-old college freshman and hasn't played all that many NFL snaps compared to most 27-year-olds going on 28. With his instincts, he deserves a big contract and I believe he would continue a very high level of play throughout the duration of the contract.

Lol no...

If Norman wants that much DG will slap a franchise tag on his ass quicker than you can say nippleshorts.

I love how people just say things without doing any research. After looking at current contacts, 11-12 million seems to a pretty reasonable negotiating postion based on his recent play. He's certainly better than anyone who is getting in the 10 million dollar range, but I think the Revis/Sherman deals at 14+ aren't a realistic expectation.

4 year deal, 35-40 million would probably be pretty workable for the team due to CJ's number dropping next year. Either by extension or cutting him, something has to be done with CJ's number.

Fit Josh in for 9-10 million a year, or franchise him, and see if we can't be in the upper tier of contenders in 2016 with KB back, and hopefully an improved DL situation.

If Norman keeps up his level of play (as in not Top 10, not Top 10, but Top 1 cornerback play), he'll deserve a massive contract and I'm inclined to believe we'll give it to him. He's singlehandedly why we're 3-0 instead of 1-2. Say what you will about how great Cam has been, if Norman doesn't pick 6 Bortles and pick off McCown, we're 1-2 even with Cam balling out. Josh Norman has been Team MVP through 3 games.

Josh Norman is the best cornerback this team has ever had.

I don't agree that he is the sole reason we are 3-0 as oppose to 1-2 but I can't argue he has played a pivotal role in sealing both of those games

    • Little worried about Jarvy Shoulder and that torn cuff, it's needed surgery for 2 years now and he's gonna play with it injured again next season.    I like the toughness but would definitely prefer it to be fixed. He's an intritical player on the team going forward.    Also I was high on pain pills last time I wrote about saving cap space but I didn't go into detail cause I wouldn't have been able to do so. "still on a ton of pain medication but not as nearly as many, think I'm down to 23 pills a day from 32 a few days ago, 18 of them are for pain management in some form or another."     But I digress let's get to the point I was trying to make in my last post about saving, I'll now use Jarvis as an example.    Let's say the canes spend 23m of the 28m in space they have available. Then have Jarvis get surgery and put him on LTIR at the start of the regular season.  You let the cap space sit til the trade deadline. At the deadline that cap space would have accural on it and the team can use that space and spend 24m on incoming salary for the rest of the season. Let's say they bring in 5 players and send out two. "player A has an 8m AAV contract" he'd cost Carolina 4m the rest of the season. Player B makes 10 "cost of 5. So forth and so forth.  Using that accural system and the Jarvis LTIR, the Canes could then go into the playoffs with a healthy Jarvis and be 19m over the cap legally for a cup run. The more cap space available at the start of the season, the larger the accural would be at the trade deadline.    That was the first part of what I was going to try and articulate the other day but I'm on 35mg of oxy every 6 hours plus ketorolac and two other pain pills and another for kidney spasms.    Have a wonderful night everyone
