Media is setting Seattle up for beatdown

Like the Panthers needed any extra motivation to beat the Seahawks next week, but the NFL media and social media are adding fuel to Panthers fire.

Many in the media are downplaying the Panthers 4-0 start as nothing more then being a byproduct of an easy schedule. The Panthers are starting to show they're growing tired of this narrative as indicitive of some of their answers to that question in recent press conferences.

Some pundits openly doubt the Panthers can succeed vs the second quarter of their schedule, that starts with Seattle. Yahoo sports Frank Shwabb has  the Seahawks and the Bills ranked ahead of Carolina in his latest power rankings, going as far as to predict the Panthers will be the only currently undefeated team to miss the playoffs entirely.

I know we've not faired to well against the Seahawks in the recent past, but I feel this is the Panthers year to clear that hurdle, and after October the 18th Seattle may request that the media not do them anymore favors by marginalizing future foes again.

Panthers 24

Seahawks 10

If any game mattered the most in this season. I believe this is it. Going in after a bye week, were we've not faired well in the Rivera Era. Going against our nemesis, Seattle that has had our number for several years. All the games we've played in the regular season against them have been close and been literally decided by not only 7 points or less but that one play that could have won it for us.

This is going to be a test..I expect nothing but greatness from this squad come Sunday the 18th.

Before everyone says we suck after the bye week a 100 more times answer me this. Have we ever been 4-0 under Rivera before?

Exactly. This is uncharted territory and we have already gotten off to a fast start which is uncharacteristic of Rivera teams. Well this team is going to win after the bye aswell and spank that seachicken ass.l

I remember the image of Cam watching the Hawks come out of the tunnel during the playoff game. And of course that pick 6 at the end of the game. There's no way he comes out and lays an egg. Certainly we can lose this game. But I believe Cam is going to ball out and get that W.

I just hope to God when Wilson is forced out of the pocket and scrambles and then throws a 40 yard bomb, and it floats up there and hangs, that someone can get into position and pick that poo off! He is the luckiest bastard when he throws it up like that, surely we can get someone into position!

Hey Russell this is Josh, but you can call him Mr. Norman.

I've been predicting that we'll beat Seattle & Indy out of this upcoming stretch.  (Not sure about Philly... would be a wonderful surprise if we can beat Green Bay, but not expecting it.)

I'm thinking 20 - 17 Panthers in Seattle with 3 or 7 of our points coming off of a Seattle turnover.

    • Possible, he is physical and a forchecker but not a needle mover, but i wouldnt mind it
    • The problem with these summary stats and rankings is that they flatten out progression and assume an even performance throughout the year. His first 3 or 4 games of the season don't really tell you anything about his current level of capacity but more about where he started and what his floor was last year. Given his last several games were against playoff teams, that gives you an idea of his current ability coming into the season. But it will serve more as a floor than a ceiling given the upgrade in talent on offense. And a better defense should give us more stops which results in shorter fields and more opportunities. And going into his third year there is no reason to suspect he will regress. His success wasn't  based on being superhuman but being smart and taking what was the defense was giving him. Distributing to the other guys not trying to do it on his own. He was great at the end when pressured and consistently moved the ball. That makes him a great game manager which is what we need. Something that is easier to do and relies on everyone else rather than having to be a top physical specimen or do it on his own. No one can predict the future but to say we haven't improved much is crazy given just having the Browns anchoring the defensive line will shut down the run and make sure QBs won't be stepping up in the pocket.  Assuming Evero got the message to can the prevent defense and bend until you break philosophy.
    • If the Canes don't bring back Tyson Jost or Jack Roslovic, is Tanner Jeannot an option? https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2025/06/senators-expected-to-show-interest-in-tanner-jeannot.html
