Everybody knows how well Cam Newton, Greg Olsen and Luke Kuechly played in this game, but let's not forget some of the other contributors who don't get as much attention.

I'll start with Philly Brown, who had some pretty good plays early on that made the defense rethink itself a little but.

Who else deserves a pat on the back?

Just rewatched the game.  Man there were so many little plays..  Key blocks.  Blitz pickups.  Pick plays on the crossing routes.. etc..

Stew-- He was running like this was the last game he was ever going to play.

Turner and Kalil were mashing people.  I mean mashing.

Luke was great to have back but TD was everywhere Luke wasn't.   I can't believe how fast he is still.

Shout out to Shula... 28 points against that team.  4 80 yard drives?   Wow.

Stew gave this offense life. Ran hard and had the stats to show it.

Funchess caught the balls that made the difference. Regardless of the drops, the rookie showed up when the chips were down.

O-line across the board has done well. Love the big uglies.

Of course the always underappreciated Thomas Davis. Key sack, big hits, and set the tempo often.

D-line. Good pressure, should have gotten at least 3 more holding calls, made Russell Wilson more unsettled than any group we have had prior.

Great team win all around.

Oher and Remmers got beat a couple times but they were going up against a stellar D-Line and even the best get beat but I thought the O-Line did a tremendous job.   Shula says this wasn't the offenses best performance but it is hard to deny they were pretty damn good.  Four 80 yd drives is amazing.

I guess what bothers me the most was the "lack of explosive plays" the announcers keep talking about.  We are, and have been since Shula took over, a ball control offense.  Those big plays don't come too often and if you push for them.  More than not you are going to turn the ball over.   So Shula has to be commended for attempting them now and then to keep the defense honest but smart enough not to dwell on it.   I will take the 10-15 plays 80 yd drive any day of the week.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
