Thomas Davis: This happens all the time

Thomas Davis says he pops fingers back in all the time

Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis established his tough-guy credentials long before popping his finger back in mid-play against the Seahawks.

But as he talked about the play following practice Friday, it became clear that he may be even tougher that he appeared.

Via Bill Voth of Black and Blue Review, Davis downplayed doing a little self-surgery between the time he was being blocked and the time he tackled Marshawn Lynch.

“What am I going do, go to the sideline and talk to the trainers about a finger?” Davis said. ” I can do the same thing they’re going to do. Pop it back in place, tape it up and keep moving. Game on the line, I’ve to stay on the field.”

Oh. Of course.

“No big deal,” he said. “My finger came out of place enough times. Probably the worst one was a few years ago in Miami, so this little thing right here was not that serious. In Miami, the bone came through the skin and I had to deal with that. It was in the heat of the battle, man. The game’s on the line, they threw a screen play, it was a natural reaction. Pop it back in place, keep going.”

Davis estimated he’d dislocated that finger “probably about five or six times” this season alone, and said: “Yeah, my pain tolerance is pretty high right now.”

Ummm...Yeah.  Me too.

warriors don't complain about sissy poo like that

Millennials are terrified of getting arthritis and carpal tunnel. They'd be shut off from everyone and everything and lose the will to live without their smartphone apps, online gaming, message boards, and tweeting about what they should have for breakfast

Real men and women don't sweat poo like that

Yep when my 3,500 lbs sports car landed on my arm and slid for 200 yards(tar and gravel rd) the only thing I was concerned about was my car.

Well, until I realized I was trapped.  Then I got angry.

Kinda puts things in perspective, ya know?

Pshhh i had gout for 2 weeks with no medicine, thats pain.

My arm bone sticking out of my skin was pain.

Yall think popping a finger back into place is pain lol. Cleary noone here has actually played a down of foozball in their life, yall weak. Go back to playing world of warcraft sissies.

Best part would be the look on the reporter's faces as TD described that. They depend on their fingers, so anything affecting those is like a genocidal crime against the endangered Antarctic tigers. The mix of horror and awe at the injury and TD acting like it's no big deal would be priceless.

Broken only one bone in my life and it came through a basketball game.  Hot pass broke my pinky in the middle through two fractures, ring finger had to be unjammed and I went to the store made a splint which I continued to play.  Mom was not pleased when I came home but dad laughed as I went urgent care the next day, man I miss high school days sometimes.

    • Think the "official time" put out was 4.48, but there were a lot of scouts there who of course all had difference times as it's all handed timed by them.  Think I saw it as low as 4.43 and as high as 4.62 or something, but in the end it's all basically the same speed because 40 yard dash is so pointless. Anyone who complains about his speed is just someone who wants a Chase/Jefferson/Nabers style #1 as opposed to an Evans style #1 who isn't going to beat you because of his speed but his other abilities. In the end, he's fast enough for a player his size and surprisingly quicker and more agile than people give him credit for too. The real problem is that Panthers fans can't get our past big WR failures out of their head, they hear "big WR" and automatically see a plodding KB or Jarrett in their minds and assume that's also T-Mac.
    • If you are buying Silver Club, 300 level, try and the buy ones that have the Lot 1 parking pass.  it is steps to the stadium Also, buy on the shade side my PSls used to be section 342, under the overhang.  I didnt care about sun or rain plenty of sites have interactive  maps that can show you   Just know, if they are opposite side of 342, the sun will beat on your head…endzones too.   if, you know for sure that you are going, and you need a hotel room, do it now  you can always cancel … remember, even if the panthers suck,  the national press follows them as do their fans.  Hotel rooms go fast for that game
    • didn't he run like a 4.52?
