It'll take me some time to think back over forty plus years worth of memories, but I'm pretty sure I've never heard the phrase "locking mechanisms" used by a football player in a postgame interview before.

That's the kinda thing I think I'd remember (even at my age).

Norman has fallen into this routine where the spectacular looks average. There is no greater compliment you can pay any player in the NFL. On Monday night he didn't make those big flashy pick-six plays, but he stayed in T.Y. Hilton's pocket all game long, and came up with big pass breakups.

I want the Panthers to give him an extension for his play. I almost want him to get one more for his reactions on the sideline when the offense is playing. He cares. This man LOVES his team and legitimately cares about what happens. That's the kind of young guy who can build a culture, and that's more important than any pick-sixes.
