"It must just be the uninformed dolts in the national media who haven’t bothered to look at what’s going on with the Eagles this year. All they see is that Andy Reid made the playoffs last year and they love kissing his big fat ass. I, on the other hand, have been watching the horror show unfolding this entire off-season up until the eve of the start of the regular season. The Eagles have been affected by death, injuries, free agent defections, bad personnel choices, stupidity and arrogance. I’m just waiting for the locusts. I don’t think the Eagles will beat the Panthers in week 1. Here’s why:....."

Hmmmm...don't know what to say to that. It's odd because it seems like a Homer Panther fan when in fact it is a bitter Eagles fan. And what do they have to be bitter about 5 NFC Championships in 10 years is pretty nice, they are always competitive. Oh well I thought it was a good analysis of both teams' strengths and weaknesses and as I've been saying all day if we DONT get pressure on McNabb with their oline situation it will be VERY disappointing.

He has legitimate concerns but I hate listening to bitching and whining, it gets in the way, the team is not as bad as he says.

And Andy Reid is a great coach, his teams are great in the playoffs and after byes.

it's not as good as everyone else thinks either.

this team is not as good as the team they had last year and last year it was rough for them. they struggled all year up until playoff time, just like the cards.

their oline is in rough shape.

westy is already beat up.

they lost a ton on their defense in leadership and talent over the offseason and they didn't do much to rebuild it.

yeah nobody is paying attention to that at all, that situation could implode but they are not doomed by any means. Good coaching can fix plenty of ills.

I can't stand fans that give up like that, "waiting for the locusts". Opinions are fine but i don't see what's so hard about having a little hope.

Damn....

The real problem for the Eagles offense and one of the main reasons why I don’t see them winning this game is their offensive line. RT Shawn Andrews is busy “Getting his Michael Phelps on” while dealing with a back injury and that fact that his friggin insane - so he won’t be playing this week. That means the Winston Justice starts at RT. That’s the same Winston Justice who has one career start in which he gave up six sacks. Todd Herramens is out with a broken foot; so backup Center Nick Cole is filling in at LG. Jason Peters hasn’t played much in the preseason and he’s coming off a season in which he gave up 11-1/2 sacks. RG Stacey Andrews is coming off knee surgery and has hardly played so far. And the only guy who’s been there all along, C Jamal Jackson, is the worst starter. What could possibly go wrong?

Expect more screen passes to Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy than anything else.

I can't wait to see it. "Westbrook meet Thomas Davis." "Your turn, Sean? Thomas, Sean. Sean, Thomas."

Peppers will be moving around the line and terrorizing Donovan McNabb all day long.

I soooooooooo hope so!

GO PANTHERS!

    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
    • And what is x gunna help with except show him what not to do. Plus for the first year and a half he was just an obstacle
    • I understand that some people want WR. I am solidly against using yet another high pick there. Coker is pretty good and we used No picks on him.  What I think we really need at WR is a little bit of a Smitty lite. It is ridiculous to say let’s get a Smitty because you just can’t do that, but someone not tall and long striding but more in his mold. I think we’d have a pretty well rounded group.    Looking at tackle, with replacing Moton looming, it just seems like the no brainer.  You fill in Icky short term. Depending on how he recovers, and how the new guy plays, you go from there. A tackle at 19 is most likely either a LOT, a ROT, or a big talented guard, at worst. We will need all three in the next couple of years.  I would love to have a stud ILB be there at 19 but the OL is the responsible thing to do I believe.
