I agree with that, but the coaches have been surprisingly adaptive to change over the last 11 games. If you remember what happened to Cam the last time Amini started a game at LG I would say this is desperation. If Remmers is capable of playing and learning both RT and C I find it hard to believe he would be lost at G.

Thats true. If that were to happen, he would be practicing at LG during the week, which I haven't heard that he has. Amini will be on a short leash, but I think they at least give him a shot before making the switch. He played decent enough on Monday to not make the drastic move.

Raji had been hurt and he certainly isn't a bust. I have watched a handful of games and they are good up front. You left out their best player in Donte Jones. You will hear his names called a few times this weekend.

Datone Jones hardly plays.  He's in on 30% of the defensive snaps per game tops.

Flame me if you want, but I re-watched the game and Amini did a pretty decent job.

I thought Amini played adequatley the other night. I wouldn't mind him getting the start again. Velasco was poo though. Having Kalil out there will make a HUGE difference.

Agreed - Amini was respectable and played better than he has in a long, long time, especially considering that he was next to Velasco (that may actually have helped since they probably get a lot of reps together on the 2nd string OL). I think people saw Scott go in first and didn't realize that he was replaced by Amini after a series or two.

I thought Amini was ok - better than expected, and Velasco seemed pretty decent too considering the weather.  Sure, one bad snap exchange, but Kalil had one too earlier in the season.  It happens, especially in the rain.  (Was Kalil's in Tampa?  I think it was...but not positive.)

Yet, the Packers are not the Colts, so very glad if Kalil is able to be back with no risk to his ankle.  Here's hoping Norwell recovers quickly.  So glad at least that these injuries to Kalil & Norwell didn't happen when Williams was also out.  Now at least we have a bit of added depth again.  Eager to see Williams get some play time.

He's better at run blocking that's for damn sure.  As bad as he was last year, why in the fug would we start Remmers at LG when he's never played there?  Or Williams for that matter?  That's a recipe for disaster.

Ive never seen anything from that kid to give me any confidence in his ability.  Our running game only got better once he, bell and chandler were removed.

He was solid Monday night, you ever think having those two awful waste of spaces around him hurt him?  Having solid vets around him, and people that know the position could help.  His pass blocking is awful though.  We shall see Sunday.

Obviously they didnt help but he did have Kalil beside him and he made Kalil look pedestrian last year.  That's very hard to do.  Defenders cant make Kalil look as bad as AS did.

I know we like to dog on Silatolu, but did he play all that bad the other night?  RR mentioned him being aggressive in one of his media sessions this week. Doesn't really tell us anything, but I know Chris Scott got some looks there too. Having Kalil in the middle helps out a lot with Norwell most likely being out. I don't know about Remmers or Williams moving into LG spot, but then again, I'm no OL coach. Maybe that's not a bad transition.

After Norwell went down, we put in Scott to replace him. Scott sucked and was replaced by Amini after 2 series. Amini fared much better and was pretty solid throughout. He's not Norwell, but I think he can do a solid job on Sunday.

Remmers never played center too until we put him there this year.
